If you took a look at the community sheets and strategies and systems as the game progresses, I think you would bite yourself at the word "low depth", but either way I'll thank you for your feedback :) -Ray
A GOOD game gets a sequel with badges and it DOESN'T appear in my recommendations? Either algorithms still hate me or I don't play enough tower defense.
For the final boss, be sure to max out EVERYTHING except super vision (full runes will cost 36k). Dodge spam to move fast and keep up the heat! If you don't constantly batter the boss and force him to teleport, he'll have more time to cast summon spells. Save your skills to deal with the enemies AND boss at the same time. It's not too hard with the rune upgrades, but you MUST use your dodge to avoid the volcanic titan and multi-hitting boss attacks. There will be a lot of crap on screen so focus! It's certainly harder than your average boss, but nothing a pro can't handle.
This game is terrible! You just watch your allies die, button mash until your fingers bleed to roll around while the enemies group up, then use skills whenever they're available. You can tell it was developed by amateurs because diagonal movement is faster. Maybe I just still don't get the appeal of beat 'em ups or hack 'n' slashes... 1/5
OK first of all, PLAY THE GAME before complaining. It's nothing like the other Papa games, it's a platformer with nice mechanics. Second, inaccessible areas are just for decoration OR you don't understand how to get to them. Secret areas in games may require you to use your brain. Third, the screen size was probably set for lower resolution monitors because this game is ancient. Just zoom in. I rate 3/5 because it was good. Not everything has to be perfect to be enjoyable. If you think THIS is bad then you haven't seen nothin'. Try Smileys-War.
First, not 100% colorblind friendly. Second, I think a little camera perspective would greatly improve the visual clarity in some situations. Third, awesome.
Unpuzzle lacks 2, 3, 4, and 5, and is therefore an inferior puzzle game. The mechanics were certainly more interesting this time, although the UI got a bit cluttered. The hooks were confusing at first because there's no indication of where they're attacked to the blocks (the long part). Unpuzzle also makes good use of mobile inputs and is a decent mobile game (most mobile games are raw sewage).
@KekGames Thanks for responding! This will help you make better puzzle games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsjC6fa_YBg
An ideal puzzle needs...
1) Interesting mechanic(s)
2) A catch (a seeming logical contradiction or non-obvious solution)
3) The revelation (the AHA! moment)
3b) It should require effortless execution
Optimal goals....
4) The goal of a puzzle game is to make the player think critically. Humans have trouble doing that, which is why these games exist in the first place.
5) The BEST puzzle catches are made by player's assumptions. Thinking critically requires moving past assumptions.
6) Clear feedback assists in teaching players to think critically.
7) Obviously good puzzle games must have a sensible difficulty curve, teaching one mechanical nuance per level.
It's not a puzzle if there's no thinking required. I prefer more cerebral "puzzle" games. It's hard to put the pieces together when they're ALREADY together for me. 2/5.
Let me explain something: what you have to do is TAKE APART , not "put the pieces together" - it's the opposite (that's why it's called "Unpuzzle"). I know, might be too much information at once, sorry for making something that does not completely match your pattern, hope you can understand the difference one day.
Default pack never even gives epics, when it SHOULD have a chance for even mythics. Micro-currency can't be gained in any meaningful and consistent way. Campaign is repetitive as hell AND features an energy system. Matchmaking is mostly filled with OP veterans. Inventory is too small/unsorted to consider the vast mech/upgrade possibilities. 1/5 for sure.
GOOD games don't require tedious practice and memorization. This one does. It also counts misses twice because the dev is sadistic. Harder than Through The Fire And Flames on expert. 1/5
