Wow, after using 4 ninjas, I have such a hard time killing stuff with other combos. 12 shots fanning out in front, and the Death Blossom when I need to hit things around me.

Yeah, cat to push the ninjas into shuriken overdrive? If you mean getting the special faster, wouldn't you rather have the witch with her +20 Special? And the her special gives attack and speed, instead of the cat's just attack.

@Gaccm: Adjacent is not diagonal. Start with the flower that only grows on one powerline; you have three of them, and there's only one powerline that can handle that.

@Somelame: The fastest way I deal with the sub is to evade the shots until the orbs expand out. I dodge inside the rings and pound the sub until the rings start to collapse, when I escape out and start the process again. (Since you always shoot the nearest thing, when you get close to the sub, you'll shoot it instead of the orbs.)

@tatsurou: Neat idea, and they did that! After you ask about the astro food, and the AI tells you about the star and then gives you your choices, type in "come with me" instead of choosing to leave or stay. It will explain how it cannot be downloaded or copied.

You can still play offline, without connecting to the server, and one would hope that would still work for the badge. (I can't confirm as I got the badge back in 2011.)

@Caffette: The game still works; at least, I just played a quick game on Easy and completed it. Like you, I already had the badge, so I can't confirm if that part still works, but I'd have to assume it does.

@Fredthebadger "Beta" has become the equivalent of "live ongoing development & servicing". Games aren't generally "complete" on release any more; it's just become a tag so people don't complain when something gets added or changed.

Yombo, I'm using FF 52.2.1 on my Win XP machine, and it works fine. It could be any extensions you may have, or possibly something with your version, but it's not a "use Chrome" issue.

Why do I keep coming back to this game? Even without browse maps, the random maps just keep pulling me back. It seems simple, but subtly addictive. :)

Another help with levels over 19 (where it says Wrap: Enabled on the right side) is in the instructions: "On levels where wrapping is enabled, arrow keys can be used to move the grid." That shifting of perspective can help find groupings.
