@yugiplayer01: It's a W. Recall how much she hates people calling her a Witch. Thus the scratched out W and the "R-Richcraft! Yeah, t-that's what I meant..."
@Dracos: I didn't really run into much that required me to go deeper than my systems could handle. If you're talking about needing the larger sizes of iron, etc., then you might not have noticed that your Research Tab lets you learn how to combine (for example) 3 tiny iron nuggets into an ordinary iron lump. The combining recipes show up once you have at least a certain number of the smaller item, which is sometimes more than the requirement to combine them (like needing 5 of the item to unlock it, when you only need 3 to actually combine.) Once you learn the combination in the Research panel, you can make more of them by going to the Cargo Bay panel, and clicking on the item you want to make; it'll have the option under the description.
@HeavyDuty: Which makes sense, since the badge description specifically states the "normal" difficulty setting. It doesn't say "normal or higher". For anyone who wants to post "how to get badge of day", read the comment with over 10,000 likes.
@Brepilef: See Sebre's post in the Best, above, where the dev explains that they cannot do fullscreen as a Flash game on Kong. (Only iframe or Unity can do that.)
Harley, 30. After playing the sequel, I gotta say that I like this one better; going insane actually means something other than "can't play cards", which makes this game the superior of the two.
@raptor6978: You don't instantly die if you run out of food and water. In addition, the estimate of what food you need does not include what you'll hunt during the trip (and the water estimate doesn't include the water you get from the food you eat.) In short, don't worry about not having enough supplies; you'll still make it, with perhaps just a little bit of damage. In the early game, I often run out of water and/or food halfway along the trip.
To confirm, I just completed every level without guessing. I *did* have to restart a couple (puzzle 21, the Super Dove, took me several retries), so I'm not sure if you can take a path that leaves you locked, or if I just was missing something.
Regarding combat, don't rush in, early on. It's easy against melee, if you're patient. Remember that it takes AP to close and then more to attack, and as someone gets wounded, they have less AP. Get an idea of how fast the fastest guy goes, then position yourself so he runs up to you but can't attack. Get one or more free hits on him with some of your AP and then back off. Rinse and repeat. The side benefit is that all that AP spending will quickly increase your max AP up to its limit.
@Walrusgs: No, people don't ride on either animals or on the carts attached to them. (That's for cargo.) You have to get a vehicle for you and your people; either ATVs or jeeps or the like. You won't find vehicles in the first towns, but the towns in the southwest of the map do have them.
@Thariel: Using your map will tell you how far your destination is, and what compass direction. (Click on your current location, drag to your destination.) Your Caravan screen tells you how much you consume each day, and how fast you go per hour (multiply by 24 to get how far you go in a day), so you know how long it will take to get to your destination. Gather supplies accordingly. It's just like using a map and compass, instead of using the shortcut of your map application on your smartphone.
The redlettermedia link in the badge description is broken. I think it's now http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/star-wars/star-wars-episode-1-the-phantom-menace/
@Splunktified: You can turn off the sound in the Config menu from the initial screen, or in the game (where it is accessed by that gear/note icon in the upper left.
To start, you have to go to Trade Goods - Buy Goods. There you'll be able to use the Silver your taxes are producing to buy resources to produce your first buildings. Buying just 1 Wood lets you build a Woodcutter, who will then make one Wood(Lumber) per turn. You can have 3 of those Woodcutters. And so on... but you do seem to need to purchase the initial resources you need. (At least you do start out gaining Silver.)
Warning: If you actually play this enough to unlock the World Events, and get to level 30, the description of Hold The Zombies might make you think it runs for a full hour. (Little things like "Event Time: 17:00-18:00" and the description talking about re-entry and zombies getting more powerful as additional waves come.) No, it's actually about 5 minutes, until all the zombies are exterminated. So if you're not there right as the hour starts, you aren't getting in that day.
