A cute idea, but the balance is shot. I managed to complete in 22 days on my first try without building a single happiness-generating building or ever having a happiness rating lower than 47.
I'd like to suggest an option to see the profit of each item as a screams-per-second value as at high levels it's very hard to judge the worth of any individual resource.
Captain's Log Stargate 20135: ten days in and the legion of bloodthirsty pirates following us have yet to let loose a single shot. I'm beginning to think my chief tactician, General Killcrazy McItchyTrigger, may be slightly mistaken...
I was enjoying this right up until I'd unlocked every starting weapon, raised them all past 200 and bought every add-on available. That's when I realised that cargo crates show up far too rarely, the chances of unlocked weapon schematics are ridiculously low and doing a reset didn't roll over anything of real value.
Things I learned from this game: it's OK to take drugs and smack your opponent around the head with various items of sporting equipment so long as you win.
Either there's a green line and a yellow line on the first multi-colour-line puzzle and I can't tell the difference, or there's a way of completing it that the game's logic doesn't recognise.
Wait a minute! That four-word hero knows five words! (He says 'two' when buying the bow and 'five' at the end of the day - did he learn another one in the meantime?)
Kinda derivative, but it's not like there are many 'Papers Please' copycats on the market and it plays out quite nicely. I like the unobtrusive use of humour.
I thought the same wjen developing the game. This version is just a teaser. 70 new levels and muuuch more sweet puzzles is available here: http://hamsteroncoke.com/zenge/ have fun!
Am I the only person in the world that thinks you need more than poor puns on pop culture references to make something funny? This game's idea of 'humour' is making a Bane ripoff and calling him 'Baner'? Seriously? That doesn't even make sense!
Not a bad game in the main but I got really sick of scouring the screen for tiny little objects - those bloody little stone chips with the numbers on are far too small!
Brief, but cute. Got to sort out those issues with the reset button. Would have been nice to have a few more endings to try for and it is very easy to get all three, but I enjoyed it.
I don't think the step-up in selling price is steep enough. Although it is certainly worth more than the material difference to make, say, boots of might rather than boots of magic, you lose more time from the various production lines being idle. It therefore makes more sense to churn out cheap crap at a steady rate than make the expensive stuff. This wouldn't be a problem, but the upgrades for the automatic processes are all but ineffectual and quickly become useless.
Whoops, that's just a silly script mistake, my bad. Good catch!
