Yeah, same person who nagged your other game. Just trying to help here cause the graphics and coding you made is really nice. I am really curious what you idea was for this game and what you think of it yourself. Mario racing is off course not that original. What is is the mix of obstacles you created. However, to avoid these obstacles is near impossible as they move forward, backward, left and right at any moment. Moreover it occurs not rarely that the entire road is blocked by spiky turtles or goombas. Try to get more variety in obstacles, moving and non-moving creatures. Maybe jumps so you can jump over them and an 'untouchable' powerup allowing you to run through all enemies. That would help a lot with making this game not only doable, but also fun. Maybe you could also try to widthen the road at points, or make curvy appearances (although I think in its current form that would be quite hard wouldnt it). Keep up the spirit, just thought you needed some honest feedback :D
Honestly, it's not really exiting. It has no really unique challanges and some user control issues (for example what if you wanted to restart with a different car, you can't. What if you wanted to go to the menu during play, you can't. Moreover, when you reenter the menu, you see the whole animation over again, while it makes more sense to go to the levels or cars menu instead of the start screen. That being said I do think you can code the game really well. It really is some gameplay issues that needs to be fixed. Sorry to be this harsh.
First of all, nice graphics. The gameplay however needs work. First, it is indeed quite slow. Try to speed up the generation of units. Moreover, the hut is basically useless right now since you don't want to store units. Units, from what I gathered do not create any defense boost and thus it's worth to send them out as fast as possible making you basically send fleets of 1 all the time. Maybe you could increase variation by not only increasing the unitgeneration rate immensely, but also lower the damage a unit does and give it a defense boost when hold in a castle. This way there's more gameplay to it. Also, it would be nice if you could patch up attacked buildings by sending units to it in order to defend. I hope this helps :)
But seriously, it's a nice game. Wonderful graphics. It's just quite hard to aim some balls. For example when you need a really soft kick like on the lower levels the mouse needs to be awfully precise making it hard to get it perfect. This also is an issue on level 7 where I need to aim it right, but lower it's intensity. Maybe you could have some kind of seperation between aiming and strength? Also, could you have a track thing for previous shots so you know which one failed? Wonderful game though. Really it is, just needs some perfecting.
I can't believe games with such beautiful, refined and unique graphics are still out there. Such a true gem. The perfect control system makes it even better. Beautiful game 5/5
Great game, wonderful game play, was surprised how easily I could jump and avoid the blocks on the side until I realised I could actually jump through. This button will definitely be added to the top 3 of best buttons ever (it's hard to beat the do-not-press). Great game, great ideas and even better execution.
... . O, and perhaps a level menu so you kinda know how long this continues. With the first, what 8? levels completed I haven't seen much progress between the levels making it feel like there could be a 100 whereas the levels aren't really that exiting, making me quit earlier than I would on a similar game with level-indicator. Nice game though, keep up the good work.
I've played a few levels now and here are a few things I've noticed thus far:
The response feels quite slow, although the keypress-action time is quite low, it does take quite a time for our friend to really move, and when you stop he brakes really slowly making it appear like he's on ice. Maybe it's me being used to faster paced games, but I'd like to see the acceleration and deceleration and even the speed increased a bit. Also, so far there haven't been true challanges which makes it feel a bit, for lack of a better word (I'm Dutch) dull, maybe you could introduce enemies and spikes a bit earlier in the game. Also, who the hell keeps stealing his girlfriend? Seriously, it happens more often than Browser stealing Princess Peach :O /comicrelief. I would like to see some sort of back story to it... to be continued
I have never been more horrified by white rectangles. On a serious note, nice game. But like Irasfel said, it still is very basic. It was kinda hard to get out of the house at first and once I'm out and shot the 64 zombies, there wasn't anything else to do. Also, because my mouse wasn't removed by the game it was very hard to really look around without the mouse going out of the kong-game space making me loose focus when I click or making me unable to move left as my mouse was already against the left side of my screen.
Good start, really, it is, but there's really a lot still to be done to make it a true complete game. Good luck though!
The idea is nice, but I've been struggling with the controls. Maybe it's just me, but I keep pressing z when I wanted to jump which basically broke my plan. Maybe you could change this a little. Or perhaps assign two different keys to each portal so you can basically choose which portal you want to move? Otherwise a nice game, really difficult levels, but a nice game 3/5
Thanks for your comment. Sorry for the terrible controls but I didn't know the custom. For portal selection, it seems not easy if there is a sorcerer in a stage. Anyway I will try to add it into my game.
Good gameplay, could use a bit more challange, perhaps colors in the blocks to spice it up and maybe some kind of original unique element what makes this game truly your game instead of another breakout resurrection. You're on the right path though. Looking forward to the next version.
O, and more thing, it really takes a lot of time to gather the 2nd lower friction upgrade. Is it that powerful? If not, could you perhaps lower it. I pretty much maxed out all other important flight upgrades and I'm not really planning on playing another 50 games to gain it.
Thx Dutcher! Your cooment is very important and usefull for me. I got the message.
