It is not good gameplay design to limit your player's first actions. On later levels if you don't perform a very specific set of actions right out the gate you instantly die. So it feels less like a platforming game, and more like a game of memorization like Simon Sez..................................For some reason I get delayed (or straight up ignored) response on the jump button. .......................Otherwise it is a good game.
This was a really fun game. Getting all the coins (and then the energy ball) are a great reward for busting every pot and killing every enemy...........And the combat in this game is amazing. It is so much fun to kill these guys. A puzzle game like this has no right to have combat this fun................All the enemies are great. The games don't telegraph when wizards they shoot energy balls though. And the spiders are GOD AWFUL. Oh my god, they are so bad. I can't tell when they are in the air and they block the view of skulls/slimes "under" them and all the black pixels blend together. What should have been an awesome final fight became infuriating as I kept getting blindsided out of nowhere.
I beat the game, but I am not sure how. I had all the medals and upgrades and I got great distance, then I died, and I just kinda won..................... Anyway: this game is awesome. A nifty setting/story and a cool ending. Once you get triple jump the game really opens up as a fast paced skill based game. The way you use your sword is not what I was expecting, but it works really well...............The "line of fire" moment is a great moment. A little place to breath and get a cool set piece.
I FINALLY beat this game and have to say that it is again another 5/5 perfect game. The art is even better, the spells are well balanced and the level design is genius.......................The characters are all likable and distinct. If only we could get more banter between them. I guess we really will have to leave that to the fandom......................I like how there is the Walkthrough, the in-game map and the big map on Deviant Art. All together I was able to navigate really easily.............At first I was confused as to why there was no new-game+ after beating the last boss but I looked it up and the payment system looks easy to use/understand and doesn't beat you over the head with it (like basically every other game ever).
I like how Anna is all "Stop right there criminal scum". And damn right she is the team leader. At first I thought she was going to be our Raiden, but nope. Anna rocks......................
Kinda weird how there are no longer as many cameos and references. A significant loss, but I guess it makes sense since the series now has microtransactions.........................
The quick select menu system that remembers my last actions was a brilliant move and a real time saver..........................
I wish the buff/debuff spells were in their own menu.................
Yay for Kirby snowman........................
I wish spells like “barrier” that boost all party members also boosted the backup character. Because it basically locks your current team setup and is restrictive.....................
[When talking to Patrick in the factory], no Natalie, It is Anna’s team. Bad Natalie.
A truly amazing game. 5/5........ But it desperately needs a SELL button. And for some reason a single enemy infestor spore can wipe me out, but dozens of my bio-labs are completely worthless..........The upgrade and armory system works really well. But I do think we should be able to have 3 auxiliary powers........Far too often the game would end within seconds when the enemy zerg rushes me, which forces me to dump all of my money into Physics labs and space ports and then just sit around since I didn’t have any generators………. The player’s unit AI is still a big problem. Turret rotating like morons and ships missing easy hits have cost me many a match………….The turret and ship designs are very clever, interesting and easy to identify………………There is no way to lower the quality…….The shields are not that useful….. All structures need WAY more health. A single basic fighter can obliterate an entire base…………..Again, an absolutely stellar game.
There really isn't much strategy to this game. Since I can't command my units my archer stand in front getting mashed by shield orcs while my cavalry kills lancers off the side................. The difference between cavalry and infantry is too obscure for me to understand so I completely ignored them and their skill tree...................Since you can't control your units the game becomes a game of numbers with basically no skill needed.
The meteors are cool, but they have a downside in that they block the screen so I can't see the next meteor that comes down. It is survivable until the last boss where I couldn't see what was going on and then I just insta-died........The character's move kinda slow and given just how big your formation is you are guaranteed to take some hits no matter what. The only way to 'solve' this problem would be to make it so that only the team leader takes damage and you can press a key to change who is team leader.......Again, an amazing game. 5/5 and I hope we get more of it (the story has open elements left so there is good room to expand).
5/5 Amazing game........The characters are very likable, interesting and fun to play with (except for Ray, I didn't like him as much). The story was also very enjoyable.......Glenn was really good early on when he can one shot people. After that he isn't that strong.........Selena was always in my team. Without Resurection and healing I would not have been able to beat the game......Erica's 'hail of arrows' attack is easily the best and amazing at just killing everything.......The RPG elements had having a designated team leader are very well implemented and strategic. And they fit the characters
So is there any way to lose or any win conditions? Is the game just a high-score game?.............. Good stuff. The levels have new mechanics and keep things fresh. Except for Day 6 with the soccer ball which got old real fast and lasted too long.
An absolutely stellar game. Truly amazing............ One of the most interesting portions was level 8, room 2. That was just sinister. So hard, and yet totally easy. ........ I didn't like it when I had to get passed timed portions. It was kinda annoying and made even worse since the game lags......... Again: this was an awesome game.
This game fascinates me......... If you know what to do you cannot lose. Bow and Arrow from afar, frog or bird, invisibility mean you cannot lose. But if you anything else you die within 2 seconds even if you max out all your health...............It is at once impossible hard, and absurdly easy.
Maxed out conjuration. Dude can summon a Lion anywhere.......... This isn't a game per say, but I had a lot of fun with it and replayed it like 4 times.......... And all your decisions are shown at the end of the game....... The only way this could have been better is if some survivors could interact with each other.
What is with the accuracy in this game. I can easily peg a sprinting horse far away, but it takes 4 shots to hit an archer who is completely stationary with a high accuracy bow.
I learned early on that the enemy generates a whole new army after their previous army is wiped out. So the best thing to do is kill the enemy army slowly......... On the last level I managed to keep a Ballista alive. It sat out of range killing 10 meat minions while the Ballista never took any damage. By spawning 10 meat minions every 10 seconds (while earning 4 meat every 2 seconds), I was able to max out all my tech and get 999 of all resources.
What, no Rose Magma Heart? Not even worth playing... oh wait there she it. Hell Yea. She is my favorite by far. Barbarialand is awesome and my healers can survive Meteor Storm (and it is sooo great to see a Meteor Storm vaporize an entire enemy army)............. I am super happy that a sequel was made. We get new character with new powers and cool designs and really cool (but brief) personalities. The fights are very similar to the first game, but that is fine because that game was also awesome. Good tech levels and tech level progression........ Great game.
