This is basically a rip-off of The Last Stand, except it's really glitchy and poorly balanced. How does something like this get on the front page when I haven't seen Tower of Greed (a far superior game) up there?
The hit detection is off. You can ONLY kill someone by shooting them in the head, even if you shoot the dude right in the chest. Plus what's with the wierd crates that look like health packs? No matter how much you shoot them, it does nothing. Don't make useless background objects look like health kits!
Fun at first and pretty interesting but really flawed. First off, what's the point of fire arrows? They're twice as costly as ice arrows and have the same damage bonus. If there's another effect I'm not seeing it. Also, buying health is essentially pointless since for the cost you get a measley ten or less HP in return, money that could be spent on arrows. Third, the later enemies take WAY WAY too long to die. The screen shake effect is also really annoying.
Good presentation and battle system, but needs polish. Picking your facing should only come at the end of your turn, not when you move. The gameplay is slow, even by SRPG standards. Items and Inns are too expensive and monsters give you too little gold.
Nice presentation and everything but.. it's just so BORING. The best thing about an RPG is the progression, exploration and the storyline. This game has none of that. Why play this when I could just play any random Final Fantasy game and have THIS battle system PLUS a story, a world to explore and the feel of getting stronger?
Nice concept but the game is just so flawed and unbalanced. It requires far more resources to win a battle than it should. Even after you wipe out the enemy troops you don't win - you have to keep wasting troops just to get the stupid energy bar down. Worst of all, if you're out of troops and the enemy attacks you there is absolutely no way to retreat. The game sits and waits for you to place troops YOU DON'T HAVE. You are forced to go back to the main menu and re-start the entire mission.
Why do I have to re-buy all my soldiers and re-train them every map? If they live through the map it should carry over. You should also be able to dismiss units if you don't want them anymore.
Interesting idea but it needs more. First, it needs an unlimted time mode or at least something that works in stages or gives you more time. Second, the screen is too tall. Third, it needs some variety in the gameplay, like some power-ups or something.
Attention game developers: PIXEL HUNTING FOR SOMETHING TO CLICK ON IS NOT FUN.
I am still waiting for you to realize this. Please report back to us when you figure it out.
Awful. Tutorial window can't be closed, the movement system is awkward, game is generally slow even on 16x speed and in the TUTORIAL the enemy can one-shot your units like nothing. Needs vast improvements before it is playable.
...If your game needs a full tutorial video, then you're doing something wrong. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing and was clicking aimlessly so I eventually DIED. All because I don't want to watch a YouTube vid on how to play some puzzle game. There's a line between "unique" and "stupid". This crosses it and then dances on it. Awful, awful, awful.
One life? Really? Even old arcade games give you more than one damn life. Besides that, this game is pretty much a Newgrounds inside joke so what the hell is it doing here?
