''Sire! I bring urgent news of a neighbouring village.... the people... all disappeared... they were zapped into thin air within the confines of their castle! SOMETHING CALLED ELECTRICITY!!!''
''Woff woff woff. Electricity you say? woff woff. Honestly Timmy, you will do ANYTHING for attention. You getting this lads?'' *Guards: Hahahahahaha-zzzzzppp-AHHHHHHHHHHHH*
5/5, loved the feel of this game, the music, the humour, the story, it takes me back to old computer games like Monkey Island. If this was a 'feature length' game like Monkey Island then I would buy it. There was some clever things in there that test your memory and vigilance. My only gripe is that he gets stuck on things, it would be nice if he automatically walked around blockades. Unfortunately, this is common in this kind of game though. Another thing I liked is that you could play it how you wanted, if you did things ahead of the quest it didn't screw up the game play. You are free to use your initiative as well as simply reading from a check list.
Another beautiful game from 2DArray. 2nd game you've made that has made my eyes water.
I found the last level extremely difficult, because I didn't realise something vital, so if you're struggling with the last level here's a tip if you hadn't realised it either:
It may not seem like it, but Zero Whites DOES affect it. You just have to time it carefully. I waited until I knew the bullets were going to get out of hand before using Zero Whites. Save them until it's nearly destroyed so you avoid a lot of the explosions. You also have to make sure it's on the screen to take effect -- so wait til you can't see it, press spacebar, then by the time Zero Whites activates it should be in your line of fire.
''Wow that guy in the orange suit is taking all the zombies out, he looks like a fugitive so that's why he must be so hard'' *runs up to him to join* *gets shot* Ok so they're not friendly :-P
FWIW, it's not often that I give a game 5/5. Most games I give a 4/5 if they were brilliant but had that little something annoying me, but there was nothing wrong that I could find with this game. So first 5/5 for a long time.
And thankyou for making survival about survival and not keeping ALL the toys to get the medal. I was about to go mad when I lost a few just before I won wave 25, but I still got the medal which is great. Fantastic music, it really made the game.
There are no voices in the game, so maybe the kidnappers whisper to the hostages to get in front of them as a shield or they'll kill them, but we just can't hear it.
Also, nice work on making the music alternate. I find too often with these games that the music gets irritating. This is just the right level -- the music is catchy and does get stuck in your head, but not so much so that you want to leave the game. I hate having to mute games as I prefer to have the in game music, so this is perfect.
I hate games like this so I dreaded having to do it for the best of 2007 quest, but despite being terrible at it I really enjoyed playing this game once I got the hang of it, and felt that earning the badge wasn't a 'chore'. I may even come back to it :-O
To those doing Pixel Pack: It doesn't mean get DIRECTLY to floor 25 -- you can go PAST it, and it will still count as 'reaching' it. All the matters is that you click EXIT TOWER on floor 25 OR AFTER. So I did survival and kept banking til I hit floor 27, the next 'stop' I had after 25. IT STILL COUNTS. Be patient, make sure the badge area has clocked it before you leave the game page.
The new 'K' buttons are great but would it be possible for you to keep the original ones in the same order? Normally it was two clicks but now I have to scrabble around trying to remember the save+score buttons. If it's not possible though then I'll just get used to it, bit annoying though.
I reckon that if you pick up a ring drop, and you already have that ring, you should be able to pry the gem from it and sell it on the gem market :-D (j/k) Well sort of.
SStan13 -- No, it's not supposed to say that. You need to tell Tukkun A.S.A.P as according to his note on the login, it could wipe your data.
Hope it gets sorted soon, good luck.
Really disliking the new bonus shop prices, having to ignore the overcharge option for now to afford the powerpack and occasional boost top-up. Wouldn't be so bad if the mystery points boost pack went back to stackables. I am liking the log feature, reminds me of things I often forget to do which is good.
Imlostru: Try skipping binary battlefield and go straight to dragon cave. Despite binary being easy, the bombs kept killing me despite piling pixels onto hp and def. You could always return to it when you're strong enough, and the difference in pixel earnings is much better.
