As gamergail said, this game should have been given a badge as it is pretty good. All puzzles have an obvious solution by doing process of elimination as to what will not work and once you realize that on some of the levels you don't want to unfold a specific color. My only complaint is that it is hard to see in the zoomed out levels where the squares are and what is just the white background since the gray border of the squares becomes hard to see. Other than that, no problems, 4/5 stars as is and I would give 5/5 if the background color was changed or if the border of the squares was easier to see.
This game should have been switched as BotD with String Theory 2 from last week so people could get the storyline in order and get practice in this game first, but oh well.
I agree with KohoutDan, Kongregate REALLY needs to allow new games again. A few years ago on a Saturday the players online would equal the number of games on the site. Now it says on the top in the red banner, "8,480 online playing 128,501 free games!" or only about 1 player for every 15 games.
@Naud1234: Before e_cha made this game he made "50 years" which can be found at https://www.kongregate.com/games/e_cha/50-years. That game and this one are basically the same but the first one is all text, you can't even use a mouse to click on a menu. So since this game does have graphics but the same general gameplay it has "graphical" in its title.
I don't know why people downvoted SataiDelenn. Lucred's comment is in 10th place in the Best comments section with 16 upvotes, so apparently the instructions on beating Level 25 worked for 16 other people who needed help.
And... 2nd Medieval Chronicle of 3 for this weeks Badges of the Day. I think Kong admin should just have 1 week where all badges are Medieval Chronicles in chronological order if they're going to keep having one or two of these games be BotD each week and then don't give us anymore for a month. That way at least we can see how the storyline goes instead of jumping around and still getting 5-10 of them each month.
I just found a weird bug. On level 10 I clicked a rhombus as soon as the level loaded and the switches changed from solid to dashed or vice-versa but the rhombus didn't move. I then clicked all of them rhombuses, nothing happened, so I refreshed the webpage. The game had me start from level 1, but after that I skipped straight to level 11. I guess somehow since I clicked all the rhombuses but didn't have any crashes the game considered I passed the stage. /shrug
FYI, you do NOT have to beat the queen to win the game. When you encounter the queen, and get to a junction where you can head up-left, down-left, or down a strip 3 tiles wide, head down the strip until you reach the bottom. You'll be able to avoid the queen, and do a U-turn going back up while staying on the left side. When you get back to the junction, head down-left. The queen will then keep going back and forth on the left side of the strip and you'll leave her behind. Then just proceed along the bottom-left path with no worries until you reach the end for an easy win.
Wow, a developer responding to a comment for a game 3 years after it came out, such as the one by Athens1234 on Aug. 26, 2021, is extremely rare. It shows how much they care about the games they created. I wish Kongregate would re-allow games to be uploaded so developers like them could continue to add new games to this website.
TL;DR: The point of watching battles isn't to participate. It is to watch how your army loses so you can make changes to your army so you win next time. Whoever has the best army setup will win. If any luck is involved then you need to change your army setup.
For those complaining that this game has no strategy or isn't even a game because you just click start, you are missing the point of this game. This game isn't a game where a brilliant person changes the course of a battle while in the thick of it. This is a strategy game where like most real battles it is decided before the first attack based on the soldiers a commander chooses to send into battle. In this game you need to look at what cards are in the opposing army and then you change the cards in your army to be resistant to damage and use attacks the opposing army can't resist. A basic example is if an enemies main way of attacking you is by burning your cards to death but have low attack, then you don't want cards with special abilities that use weaken since the opposing army already has low attack cards and weaken doesn't affect burn damage. The strategy part of the game then is to change your army and use cards with special abilities that remove burn effects.
I like the music, but I'm undecided on whether the added 80s background buzz is an annoyance or something that contributes to the music and the 80s graphics of the game.
Awfully long loading time followed by a game with a bunch of swearing and lewd pictures/puns. 2/5 Stars, it would've been 1/5 stars except the gameplay itself is decent for a card game.
I've noticed that "TheBigPig1234" has been on Kongregate since Nov. 17, 2018, has earned only 5 badges throughout that entire time... but seems to just complain about the games. I'd understand someone who has a few hundred badges giving negative critiques, but someone who has only 5 badges and just complains is just a troll or a whiner unless I'm missing something obvious.
4/5 Stars. It's a good game itself, but it is missing some UI aspects that stop it from being 5/5, such as a level select, NOT having your progress reset when you finish the last level, a mute button, having the option of starting the game muted, and possibly having a level creator function for players to create and share with others.
Yeah, I wish we could still upload too! (Also, I still can't believe this game is >3 years old, makes me fell really old).
