On one hand I like the open actions - you can build the tower in a number of configurations to pass a level. However, it'd be nice if once you pass the threshold, you can click Next even if you crash your tower. It would give you room to experiment without risking losing the level as you technically beat it. Also could use a bit more to do. A different mode or some achievements or something to give it some depth. 3/5
It's alright but aside from increasing difficulty level, there isn't anything new to do in this game. Add on the lack of innovation and an annoying amount of lag for fast typists and I'd give it a 2/5.
Would have liked to see where you can beat levels more easily but have achievements in place for beating them more efficiently. Otherwise it's pretty fun for as basic as it is, and the particle killing is a nice touch. 3/5
Game is way too difficult as it stands right now. Things taking multiple shots to kill where you can only survive two. The art style makes it difficult to see everything. The instructions are a bit difficult to read due to font choice. Some good baseline ideas but needs some better difficulty options, some more depth, and in my opinion, a more diverse art style - at least color-wise. 2/5
Here I was thinking of something like Interactive Buddy, and all I find is this useless program. At least it only took me 2 minutes to get bored and move on. 1/5
Wow this is stupid. If the places don't connect exactly, you can't go through. Has to be one of the most annoying wannabe platformers I've ever played. How unfortunate I must suffer through it for badges. 1/5
Well, upon further playing, I have to down my rating. Too easy to get XP on the first level with extra modes. Bosses are way too hard because no matter your defense value, expect to have all your troops killed in one shot. Especially so with the Octopus, which I still haven't beaten. Feels like the game just takes too long to play through, since you could max your level and skills on the first level if you so chose to. 3/5
A strange blend of Gemcraft and Phage Wars with a civilization feel to it. Not sure why I gave this 2/5 before, perhaps the game has been updated since? 5/5
@Tresmius - good for you, I'm a 100 WPM typist and it's simple, sure, until the animation kicks you in the balls. When the word doesn't show up until 1 second left, you're not going to win. 1/5
Umm, what? I have to pay to use attacks? No instruction, no tutorial, no direction of game really. I know it's 'text based' but why are there pictures at all then? It's like you wanted to do art but realized you couldn't so slapped on 'text based game' to try and make up for that. 1/5, boring, dull, lifeless, and not innovative whatsoever.
Talk about poor difficulty scaling. Some waves, I annihilate. Some, I get destroyed. It makes no sense as to the progression of difficulty. Also, certain towers (read: freezing) are useless, especially for high costs. As others have said, nothing special for a TD game - which is already overflooded. 2/5
Have to agree with mordor21 - I too don't like having to screw around with each individual piece because they're slightly off yet obviously in the right place. Having a fix-to-grid system of some sort would be of huge benefit. 2/5
That's unfortunate that this non-badged game of relatively little to no innovation rates higher than both the Gemcraft games. I like this game too but it just doesn't belong that high in ratings. Lowered to a 4/5.
