This game sucks compared to the original because it relies so heavily on user created content. The vast majority of the challenges involve dragging something with the mouse or driving somebody's robot. There isn't any problem solving element. It has the creativity and the community, but lacks the fun.
This game really makes me miss the built in challenges in the first one. Or at least better feature challenges. The current system doesn't have much of the puzzle solving aspect, something found in very few submitted challenges, and it prevents awarding badges.
Upon further inspection and making large levels on different machines it seems that any lag experienced is not the result of any flaws in the design. It is just a large and complicated game, truly the pinnacle of the flash single player game to this point, and older systems may not handle it well.
I just started, but I love that it has a mute button. In plain site, right on the front page without any loud opening sounds before it. It even has a nice little fade feature as you turn it on. Little touches like this make all the difference.
For a simple game that feels like it lags even when it doesn't it is surprisingly addictive. Great exploration of a simple premise. I like how they don't even try to emulate real world physics like so many other games.
I don't use the word masterpiece much, and there are few games that I rate 5 stars. Fewer still that get it for having a well polished game and not just a brilliant and well executed concept. This game is amazing. It is near the pinnacle of what can be done in the flash medium.
This is pretty good for a first game, and I can't help but give it credit for cuteness and humor.
Still, the physics are as described and the changes are sometimes quite random.
@zillus the complaints are from people who know that. It is a well known glitch where the workers fall through the walkways.
I lot of people seem to hate it, but I am having a lot of luck with the death duck. I use Lightning as my main weapon and the laser for tight groups, if I ever spam lightning too much, or for turrets. The duck is the best weapon I've found so far to just fire and let it do its own thing. I can go back to other weapons while it recharges.
Is anyone really bored enough to play this game all the way through? I've tried to start it several times and I just can't make it past the first few levels. And I am not somebody that easily loses focus on monotonous tasks, I have a lvl 36 on pr2 and had farmed 30k kills in disputed galaxy before the wipe. Is there some type of trick to this game to stay interested? Maybe td games just aren't for me.
I really liked the boxhead homage, and the moment that you first unlock lightning is worth it, but the game does get monotonous awfully fast. Still I have to like one of the few games where I can tolerate the music.
On the bright side this game has a fun concept, neat gravity, and a satisfying pop when you kill people. Other than that it is very monotonous and a bit too simple to warrant a very high rating.
Its a very simple game with horrible controls and boring gameplay. The timing on the combos seems pretty hit or miss but that could just be due to the control layout. I tried it the first time around when AS put the game on their site over a year ago. Its saving grace is the lovely artwork and humor. Maybe if I knew a bit more about Christianity I'd find the attempts at blasphemy hilarious. What really ruined this game for me was the attempt to drag it out by placing a badge requiring the game to be beaten in every conceivable way. Not a test of skill so much but how long one is willing to stand there and tap z. As it turns out, not long enough in my case.
Great game, at least stylistically and conceptually. I can't help but think I've seen this before somewhere, but it still feels original.
EASTER EGG: Go to credits. Next to AioriaRox is a small flashing thing. Click it. Copy/Paste to help this hint survive.
I absolutely hated this game the first time I tried it. With the updates many of the flaws I had the greatest problem with are fixed, and the game is much more enjoyable now. I'd still like a few small touches, like the ability to see who is selected or select multiple units but all in all this is a much better game than it was a few weeks ago.
I hate puzzle games, so I don't think I'd enjoy this game no matter how good it was. That being said it has pleasant graphics and excellent flow. The music is good, and the gameplay self explanatory. Excellent game, I prefer it over loops of zen.
