This is one of the few games I didn't mute the entire way through. The music is a refreshing change from the intense techno lameness that is so common in flash games and seems inspired by early 90s videogames. Somewhere between Sonic pinball and bubba n stix
Never thought I'd see a break out and tetris fusion. Pretty neat. I also recommend the strategy of moving the mouse back and forth wildly mentioned further below.
I like puzzle games where the majority of the puzzles I can get on the first try but a few are interspersed that require thought or planning. It makes the game flow much better with less repetition. Physics are ok, and the concept is decent. Not a bad game. It briefly satisfied my urge to destroy.
The controls seem a bit awkward and jilted, and the concept has been done to death. That being said I love any post apocalyptic scifi theme so I still give it a 4/5.
Reading through the comments I found someone who gave this game the best compliment that could possibly apply to it. Rather than try to find more accurate words I will paste theirs. The absolute best that could be said about this game is that it is,
"more fun than getting kicked in the nuts."
Finally a 1942 inspired vertical scrolling shoot em up to compare to all these galaga rip offs I've seen lately. This game is awesome, truly inspired, and perhaps the best thing I have played in weeks. My only complaint is that the graphic style makes it the already intense game feel more so. Also thank you so much for the mute button.
@ thorvindr I always thought it was more realistic this way, on account of paper weighing being light and paper airplanes having a poor life to drag ratio.
I like the mute options right at the front. A lot of games have had that lately and it is greatly appreciated. Still it is somewhat irritating that a well known sequel that already has a large following on a different site can automatically come over and beat lesser known games in the weekly ratings. As for the game itself, I found it more enjoyable than the first one.
Every mediocre game in a given genre is accused of being a rip off just because it is uninspired. I think that is the essence of most of the complaints. I don't much care for it, but if it is the first game this dev has put out then it is an excellent first effort and I expect great things in the future.
This game would be much better were it not for the badges that make me feel forced to repeat it until I am lucky enough to get the right platforms. In my eyes it is somewhat of a disservice to the maker because it taints my opinion of an otherwise alright game. Granted there is a trend for people to like harder games, and badges of the same rank are on average more difficult than they used to be but something so repetitive and luck based is not the way to appease this movement.
