I love the game, but have 2 things that I think would give this a spot on my favorites and an easy 5/5 if they were fixed: 1) I consider footmen completely useless, especially on later levels. I don't think I used any soldiers for the last 4 levels of the game. Why? The hero can block extremely effectively, blocking 2(pet)-11 units at a time, with great killing power. Add that in with all fighters have no true range, cannot hit air, and are instantly obliterated by a large number of end-game enemies like Banshee, and you've got a formula for uselessness. Mages can deal with large numbers of tiny units (chain lightning) while archers pick from afar with incredible damage, and a healer to buff damage/cleanse was all I used the last levels. 2) There needs to be some way to recoup magic in battle faster (MP regen buff) without buying potions or going through the Anima magic tree (which I did due to that & the lizards), because it takes forever to regen. All I've got, thanks for the read.
The second boss is much more difficult than the other bosses - you can't move while the laser goes through, so if you're not in a safe spot, you're either going to get hit by one of the rockets/fireballs flying past you or you're going to get the seeking rockets on you, which are nearly impossible to avoid. I found the third boss a cakewalk because even though the hitbox on it was pitifully small, its firepower was weak.
@NeilSenna same here, I don't really care about speed (especially since my virus protection software wipes my cache & cookies, meaning I can't save scores anyway), I just go for what I know will work (don't take an insane risk just for the sake of speed)
I'm not sure why it is talking about "When I was made of meat instead of metal" but could it be a reference to Meat Boy? I believe that was produced by AG as well, and I can't think of anything else like it.
@heycoolguy1 Senekis did say "inb4 "needs badges"." so it's not like he wasn't expecting that kind of thing. Also, you talk about how people won't get top comment while you yourself advert yourself to get top comment. ~that usually doesn't work.
I earned the badge two years ago, came back.. and noticed that I spend probably 1/4 of the time on it that I did the first time to go through it & do what was required for the badge. 5/5, great game, after you play for a while the controls become natural
Had a lot of potential that it just didn't use. Missing so many things that would put this at the top of the charts. 4/5. A few things though: 1) Why does the final boss drop something to fabricate missiles? I managed to destroy that 2nd to last so it was completely useless at that point. 2) There needs to be a way to gain credits by destroying random pirates or "side missions". You can't even come CLOSE to getting all of the upgrades, so why not help out a little? 3) The scanner needs to be upgradable.. the range seems so small. 4) You should really be able to fight alongside allies, I just took out an entire fleet and a half by myself. Maybe buying wingmen? 5) You should be able to cancel the Jump Drive after you've hit shift, some button that cancels it out. 6) Other starbases, but that would require a bigger game (which would be awesome). Great job!
@Alfa67 I did indeed try that one, and beat it in just over 16 minutes on my second try. It took me a little while to get used to having such a small energy generation for the first part of the game, but I got it. I can understand discussion, but I certainly don't appreciate it much. If this game were badged and all, then it would make perfect sense, but if there's no reward, why stress yourself to make/read a walkthrough? @iMiPi This is a comment section, after all. While I would agree that "great game"x10 is no fun, I was simply trying to iterate the point of not agreeing with walkthroughs in a game where you can't get rewards.
chilese, the majority of this game is figuring out and solving the puzzle of how to win... don't spew out how to win every one, the fact that there's no badges or real "points" involved in winning makes walkthroughs pointless (not that I like them much for other games, but still) and makes it not very fun.
I would say that Phase Shield shouldn't be called OP. In comparison to other shields, it is certainly great and all, but the weaknesses that apply to other shields apply moreso to Phase Shield. Since many decks (especially many mono-Aethers) almost rely on Phase Shield not to lose, having some Permanent Control is more devastating to Phase Shield. I would say, relative to other shields (which are, except for a small few, permanent instead of temporary), Phase Shield is better, but every shield has its place.
@wtfatwomfg PvP and False Gods can get you upgrades really fast if you have a good False God/PvP deck and you're lucky at spinning cards. One card you spin from a False God sells for something like 1300, more if it's a rare. If you look on the forum, you can find nice FG killers that can help a lot.
@DarkxideX Would you rather every comment that calls the game "good" be all five top comments? They're generic and repeated constantly, so nobody wants to hear it for the 892nd time, so they downvote it.
On the last level, I had 6 more cars to go, with something like 12-15 cars backed up. I turned on all the lights from right to left and just barely made it had an accident right at the end xD
