I was enjoying the game until the "Kill Machinegun Smith" mission: When it appeared I had already beaten the game, and killing the guy again does NOT complete the mission. 1/1 because of this broken bit that forced me to stop playing.
Good mechanics but lack some completion system like levels, achievements or something. To play just to beat old / others' scores is not the ideal scenario for any game nowadays. And the games always start with a long red shape, I believe it could be random since the beginning is so open anyway.
Thank you for the comment.
I keep working on this game in my spare times and I'm trying to improve it. Good to hear your ideas.
I just added some features to survival mode and I already added levels on it. check it out and let me know more about ur idea.
My two major complaints: No money sink (once you max everything, money is only used to lag the game and distract you from shots); medals and save disappear as soon as you complete the game. Other points to consider but these two are waay bigger annoyances so I'll just write them.
Alright, just a quick follow-up to my comment: Updated the Rating to 2/5 after realising there's no apparent score, there's no ending screen once you finish the game, and this is the second implementation of the title. "Once is a mistake, but twice is a choice"...
I like the progression feeling of this game, divided by stages. I got disappointed when I saw that the timer running out actually did not make you lose. I prefer progression-based games than score-based ones. There are a few bad implementations, like the star and bomb being random (at least that's how I perceived), no apparent bonus when you match 4 or 5 gems, and the fact that you can drag a star or bomb indirectly but not directly. Choose what the players can do! Either allow us to drag the bombs by themselves or keep us from sliding gems that do not form a match just to slide a bomb (which then explodes). Final thoughts: An average implementation of the match-3 genre, with good and bad aspects. Got my 3/5.
"Shoot stuff. Collect stuff ejected from the stuff you just shot." I had to resist the urge to hit 5/5 after reading this sentence... I still need to play the game!!
i was enjoying the game until the S (yes, you read it right: ASS) level started. The game mechanics are clunky for what it proposes (abuse of timing), and it jus becomes frustrating. When I slide down the side of a wall that contains spikes pointing down, i should NOT die! The timed activation of the bubble is horrible when your time frame is short and the placement of the frozen platforms in levels where they need to stay in place is VERY unforgiving. A good concept ruined by annoying details. 2/5
This game actually solved many issues that SportsHeads didn't manage to. Still, there is a situation where, if the ball is at your side and the opponent is far from you, he will not do anything. If you are winning, just let the timer run. But anyways, this game is here to show all devs around that an idea does not make a game - development and aesthetics are also required. Every time I want to play a game like this, this will be it, not SportsHeads.
Very straight-forward fun game. Challenging enough fo a casual game, you might die at some levels but then you buy upgrades with the money from the failed run and surpass the challenges. The completion aspect of the game is good: Every round you can buy something; the achievements are there but do not require grinding. Some tweaks to avoid lag and a better menu system would turn this into a 5/5. For now, it's a solid 4.
Great little game, challenging, addictive, easy to grasp but hard to master, progress divided in checkpoints was a great and necessary choice... The controls are very intuitive once you spend a minute in the game, but still very challenging. 5/5
I like the new UI. The one thing I would change: Instead of scroll on every section, an organized table showing all the content at once, just like the main progress screen.
The gameplay of idle games is nice... But the games themselves lack objectives. What if Adventure Capitalist was played first as campaign with a proper ending, which after achieved, grants players the option to keep playing for highscores? So far I have not seen ONE single idle game developer have the courage to anything like this. No endings whatsoever. Do you guys want to be the pioneers?
As suggested by MouseBreaker itself, I sent a list of 22 possible improvements on this game to the e-mail they provided. So far, no answer. I don't even know if they received it...
We didn't. I've given you a new address to try - or message on here.
*edit*
Update is up ! - ver. 2.7 - have implemented about 16 or the 22 - some of the AI stuff is proving tricky !
I don't get why people rate ludum dare games so high.. Kongregate does not have a separate rating system for games made in a weekend... this game, here in kong, is competing with complete, full games, and compared to most of them, delivers NOTHING! And yet these micro-games, even unfinished, get easily as high as 4 stars. Think about it... "Made in a weekend fo ludum dare? Great, I'd rate really high in a ludum dare-specific rating system. Posted your game in kongregate? You're now competing with great titles, and your rating is going to be proportional to what you deliver and what they deliver" - This should be the logical thought applied when rating.
With so many glitches and bugs, I don't know why these games keep being released, and even worse - keep being rated highly. Mousebreaker should focus on ONE SportsHeads game and making the BEST of it instead of releasing several identical games filled with bugs and issues. I could make a list of things that could be improved / corrected in this game (and the series), but the character limit in here would not allow - it would be too long.
