for idle maps, can you completely disable everything that's going on, just show a placeholder animation with a rough approximation of speed and stuff, and give a fixed $/sec based on the upgrades bought? will vastly improve performance, and will prevent bizarre conditions like setting low-quality mode reducing my income by a factor of 5...
some sort of auto-save would also be great (dedicate an additional save slot to it, and dump current data in every time you leave a station, or every 5 minutes, or so)
"Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space." -- Douglas Adams
It takes a while to travel anywhere, really, even with faster engines. Some sort of fast-forward button would be great.
can you think of any situation where i would want my equipment turned *off* when i fly out of the station? change default to power everything on, i can turn it off if needed
Can we also get a sandbox mode, with enablable/disablable disasters? should probably not award any in-game badges for anything done there, but sometimes i just want to sit there and build a nexus without having to stress about things... awesome game, anyway!
would REALLY help if the "harmless" disasters still happened. There are so many times when I was doing something else and didn't notice the tiny "you were safe from " or whatever message, while subconsciously waiting for the screen to go dark and shake - which it did, 20 seconds later, for a totally different disaster for which I failed to prepare (even with upgrades, I knew it was an earthquake, but I didn't know where!)
mousebreaker badge was... long. very long. and very annoying. but also incredibly easy, on Slayer and right before the final boss (so with most of the upgrades done).
but what the hell am i going to do with these 135,000 soul points now?
can we see weapon statistics for upgrades? "+32% crit damage" vs "+20% regular damage" - which is better? who knows, given that i have no idea what my regular damage is, whether it stacks or not, what the crit rate is, etc, etc.
ability to disable upgrades would be awesome... "4 grenadiers in team" is next to impossible when i have only encountered one of them in 1500m of distance...
i've spent 3 hours on this game so far. i've not even finished level 6 yet* (it's still running in the background while i'm typing this comment. i'm outright bored. dropping rating by another star, because this is a game i just don't want to play anymore.
* I've succeeded on every attempt, but I did re-do the first few at different difficulty levels to see how it's going. It's going slow.
completing an iron challenge should automatically complete the heroic challenge as well. this has been feedback in every single version of this game you guys build. fix it already!
the timer starts when you accept the commission, not when the guy actually comes in. the reverse should be true to make the game harder (each guy should also have the timer above him). otherwise very easy and slightly repetitive - so far have made every single painting with lots of time to spare.
a GOOD upgrade-based game will allow you to upgrade one thing per day, on average (a particularly good player may be able to do 1.5-2 a day, a player who just holds up gets maybe one upgrade every 2-3 days). anything slower than that becomes grindy, since you don't actually get any tangible benefit out of a day's work, and it becomes boring and annoying.
at this point yes, i get my 1k per day, plus a very rare 5k achievement bonus, but all the upgrades cost 3k+ and don't actually boost my income in any meaningful way, so *grind*
you will have a speed adjuster tonight :) i almost got it done last night, but was too tired.
