The concept is awesome, but it get's repetitive. I played it to the end, bought everything, but somehow I still feel empty. Bosses at different stages of completion would be a welcome addition (buy 20% of the upgrades, fight a boss, etc.), and more variety in the enemies, instead of just more of them. I would actually not mind taking damage, and having to buy parts to protect against it. Make this a TRUE v-shmup, and THEN it'll be a Fav and 5/5.
Sorry. I tried. I really did. Love the flash "Allan Wake" sorta style of gameplay but... The script and voice acting are TERRIBLE! Absolutely abysmal. I'd rather the voices weren't there, but even then it'd be hard to read.
Holy crap. I got it. I GOT IT! Guys, I UNLOCKED THE SUPER-UPGRADE! I was on my 29th launch, and I'm pretty sure this is how it happened: I got a height of over 5000, I achieved a distance of 100000, and I didn't use any trololols (I just used accelerators). He also yelled out "ALPHABET ALPHABET ALPHABET" so I'm assuming he collected all the letters. DO THIS IN ONE RUN AND YOUR'E GOLDEN! (At least, I think. This is what I did...) GOOD LUCK GUYS!
I beat the CRAP out of this game. Some of it is way too easy, while other bits are just a little easy. Survival gets hectic but this game doesn't pose much of a challenge.
No sound effects, average gameplay, lack of graphics (Can't always be excused by "Old school")... The menu needs some work. Perfectly average time waster. 3/5
Did "Poetic End" show up at the end of the original? (When DECEPTION is scrambling) Or AFTER the badge got implemented? If it was before than it's really no big deal that Das read what was already in the game. If it was after well... I've already +'ed his comment.
I haven't played this game in a while, but the impending Xbox release made me come back to it. Still as fun and as frustrating with jumping as I remember! Can't wait to play the full XBLA release!
Again another defender game has the illusion of strategy. It turns out, just like in all the others, you save up until you can spam the field and your good to go. And what is with all these games making you wait a minute to even start fighting. Watching your gold count is boring. 2/5 Boring gameplay, major lack of instructions, and poor interface layout.
I know it's been said, but this definitely needs a save feature. Other than that great graphics, and it's one of the better diablo-style flash games I've played. Is this the music from Remnants of Skystone?
Love this game! If you create a sequel, I would love to see some added mechanics. Maybe different slides could have different gravity. Or, to deal with the whole "here's an empty, inaccessible room just so that it's a slide puzzle" thing you could use colour coded or sequenced teleporters? To up the difficulty, maybe have static blocks that CAN'T slide and you have to work around them. 4/5, great game and this concept could be expanded into so much more! Oh! Maybe colour coded keys and doors: one colour would be the "easy" version of the level, while the other would be harder and maybe involve more keys. (So many ideas!)
