I like it, but you can't really call it a card game. It's more like a one-on-one version of a typical RPG turn-based battle system. The "cards" you earn on Kongregate act more like keys to unlock more characters and buffs (items). Not that I'm complaining.
Much better than the first game. Tons more variety, and the Missions and Hints gives it some replay value. The cover art and menus don't really suit the style of the game though. Also, I liked the music, but it needs to have more than one track, considering games can last a while. Also, there's really no progression of difficulty; it's really easy, then it's really hard. Kudos though on a major improvement on the first game! :D
Repetitive, but not in a monotonous sort of way. :) I like the awards and the unlockables. Together with those and trign to get the Kong Badges that's pretty much why I'm unlocking all the time awards haha. Ideas for awards: "Mercy Kill" awarded for hitting any gloople while it's dieing in acid. "Hit em while they're down" awarded for killing a glooble while it's lemony. "Nothing but Nest" awarded for playing 20 Nest games in a row. :D
Sorry for the double post but I just thought of something else. Being able to summon other kinds of creatures in Art Mode would be excellent. "How does my web stand up to a Stag Beetle???"
Now I know how pissed off a spider mist be when I accidentally run through their web... I'm gonna be extra careful from now on :P
Anyway I don't have much else to add, but I do agree that it gets repetitive... I also had a single stag beetle destroy my entire web. No joke there wasn't a single strand left...
Maybe add the ability in later levels to create spider eggs that hatch baby spiders, and maybe they could even help you maintain the web...
DracoNiveus... It took you 30 minutes??...
The game basically plays itself. Every step of the way you're told what to do. And yes, I realize that that was probably the point, but the execution just made it seem empty. The story was a good idea, but the writing itself needs some revision. The graphics could use a bit of work. I did like some of the jokes though. ("You're never going to see what's on the other side of this wall, so get on with the game).
Nice typing tutor! The graphics are nice with fluid animations (though they are all silhouettes). Some variety in the enemies which is nice as well, but it takes a while to start seeing all the different types, and you may be sick of it by then... 4/5!
It's annoying when you throw villagers just to have them hit a stone statue or house when they land and not die. Shouldn't hitting something made of stone be just as deadly as hitting dirt? Also, The OMFGBBQ thing is useless. Other than that, the games addicting. Ninjas and Knights are the worst! 4/5
Gets hard around level 8, when the army shows up. It was neat to see flight slow down when you picked up a heavy vehicle. Movement was a little slow though. Other than that, looks great and funny in a morbid sorta way... Haha. 4/5
I know it's been mentioned, but one of the draws I had to this game was it's resemblance to Dungeon Keeper 2. It definately needs some variety in the music though; one song playing the whole time begins to grate on your nerves. Unfortunate because I actually thought it was a bit nice at first. In later levels with more waves, and hence more time, the buildup of monsters and magic makes it hard to make sense of what's going on. Sometimes I would be dead and not even know it (there should be some indication, at least, of when the avatar is slain...) Overall I'll give it 3/5. Needs some work, but could be one of the best defenders I've ever played!
When practicing, the computer tried to intercept me 3 times in a row when I had near full health. The computer should take health as well as my available attacks into account when deciding to intercept.
I found healing items to be rather useless. Healing 3 a turn during battle didn't do much. That may just be because I'm new to the game. Resting should also heal some, because once health is gone it's hard to get it back. Characters can die in 2 turns.
I'll admit to looking up levels 9 and 10. Good game but could use some work in the graphics department. That's a minor concern though. Also, there's no replay-ability...
The Chain Chump badge (for a combo of 25) didn't register. All the other badges have, except for that one. I've got a screenshot to prove it. It's weird having a badge for a 75 combo, but not 25 :S
You should have the medal (and the challenge) register at level up, instead of during game. It lagged for me and cost me the combo. Other than that great game. Original concept. Miss the corny story though. Also, an idea would be ground units that shoot missiles.
This game requires a skill set including reflex, perception (Damnit I didn't see that one coming!), and strategy (Do I shoot that coloured orb or try and absorb it?). It's a good game, but requires sound effects, and possibly a BIT more variation. It gets boring after a while. 3/5.
