Excellent game, a few levels gave me some serious challenge, but once I picked it up I slaughtered everything :P It would be nice to have some customization, perhaps increase your ability to create ships, or add instant abilities like stuns or something like that, and I will have to agree that it's too short, but I'm not going to knock any points off because all that means is that we want a sequel! Great job here, wonderful artwork, deceptively simple gameplay, and very engaging. 5/5.
Well now that I've finished the campaign, time for a solid review. The campaign was awesome, although the difficulty curve was a little dependent on which weapons you unlock, but not a problem. I loved the comedy involved with the story, nevermind a few typos here and there which really didn't detract from the overall game at all. The gameplay was awesome, and never really got too stale with the exception of maybe one of the CTF levels where I was expecting a 10 flag victory and had to run 5 more flags, but even then it wasn't that big of a deal. The graphics are awesome, nice and cartoonish, but very polished and stylized. Well as for the rating, I gave it a 5/5 because not only was I digging the instant action, but I didn't stop once while playing the campaign, I rocked right through it, glued to the screen and keyboard. Fantastic work Jay Armstrong, keep pumping out games like this and you'll be in great shape!
This game is awesome, the sniper definitely should be a 1 hit kill, and while I understand from a programming side making it multiplayer would be a rather daunting task, it would make this game truly amazing. 5/5 and favorited, great work here!
Very enjoyable game, not too difficult, but just the right amount of challenge. Very simple creation, and extremely enjoyable for being made in 48 hours. 5/5.
Rocked a 69 Second fatality. WIN. Even though I killed him fairly early on, I had to get max upgrades :P 4/5, the genre is pretty straightforward, but the content contained definitely garners a 4/5.
Pretty decent game, I think the graphics on the actual potions in game could be improved, and different modes would be nice rather than time attack (like a Story mode almost?) and most of all - if possible, get Kongregate high scores in there too, 4/5.
I love games like this, and this was a colorfully and beautifully executed version of the "type" game, with cute pixel graphics, fun and simple gameplay, and a nice dictionary of words to challenge even those with 90+ wpm typing ability such as myself! (97 to be exact :P) definitely a 5/5. I would like to see you expand on this idea! Perhaps different levels/planets with varying difficulty, in game achievements, and other than that you've got a wonderful, polished game - great work Chman!
Excellent game! Took the bullet hell genre, added in a boss-only element, and mashed them together! I love the powerups, and I love the little nuances you put in, like the boss who reverses the polarity of the room and the controls become reversed, that threw me for a loop and gave me my first death! Really enjoyable shooter - simple graphics, simple gameplay, but extremely fun, 5/5.
Ahh, the quest for the Glowing Napkin was a glorious one, and the people did rejoice, and they feasted upon the lambs and sloths, and carp and orangutans, and fruit bats and breakfast cereals, and they did sing and dance around thy glowing napkin.
I have to agree with some of the other comments, it does seem to be lacking a bit, like your previous title, but the game itself is still fun, I still love your stylized graphics, the music is great, and the game was fun, and while it seems like the game was lacking something, I still have hope for your future games. The bottom line is, you take many risks and combine many genres and come up with intuitive and new gameplay styles, which I give you the utmost of credit for - you are, like many others, my favorite developer on Kongregate, and I've enjoyed all of your games, I give this a 4/5.
This was a surprisingly fun little nugget of a game! While it may not be as deep as I would like, the concept is pretty simple, the graphics aren't bad at all, and I think with a little more put into it it could be turned into a pretty decent strategy/sim game. 3/5 for an excellent proof of concept.
I'm really digging the art style in this game, and the gameplay is simple but addictive. The enemy collision is a bit iffy, but then again it just takes some getting used to (quick little guys they are) Overall it's really solid, and very fun - the level with the big 10 in it was fun warping back and forth until the door opened. 5/5, great game - favorited.
@thinman: You don't have to grind 400 misses, you can work towards the other achievements and you'll get 400 misses without trying, hence why the achievement is in there, you get it as you play whether you're trying to or not.
Excellent game, nice graphics, fun and addictive gameplay, and I like to original spin you put on an existing genre, very nice work here - I had fun getting all 3 stars on each level, definitely worth a play. 5/5.
