This game is a great continuation, and this is coming from someone who hates platform games. Great work! But it appears to not register my level completions for the card. Oh well, I'll figure it out.
I think I comment on this game too much. But here's another one. For a *free* game, the love you have for old school RPGs shows through. I actually look forward to playing this game when I come to kongregate.
All game developers should do this series. These guys really have boiled down all of the concepts that go into making a good game. Excellent presentation.
There is one major thing I appreciate this game for: They actually made a use for some of the normally less used sort of skills. That's a hint for anyone having trouble with Sinjid. Nice work guys.
PS. What I meant is I was playing before the badges came out and it doesn't seem to understand previous treasure collections prior to my Mardek Chapter 2 save games.
I love this game, am most of the way through Chapter 2, but the treasure chest box badge doesn't seem to catch that I've collected way more than 20 chests.
and to the author's credit, I know she/he/they understand how to make at least fun games, as Diseased Productions is responsible for Endless Zombie Rampage which I do like. To reiterate, this game is not that.
Most of the negative comments here match what I'd like to say. I'll add one: I hope that the reason this game gets badges and a card is because of technical reasons (aka. they put in kongregate scoring and other games didn't), and not because of some sort of nepotism. This game is a gore fest, and at that it's fun, but it's not what I'd consider a *good* game at all. For a gorefest, I'd much rather play the Visitor.
As I play more, I've been running into a couple bugs. Some might just be because of my keyboard, but getting stuck inside of a barricaded area is not cool.
I've said a lot of mean things about this game, so here's a nice thing. After working to get the badge, I swear that my reflexes have actually improved. Nice!
I am impressed with the amount of work that seems to have gone into this game already, even by these beta test stages. I haven't noticed any bugs, per se, and I assume there are lots of balancing issues to yet work out. As I play more, I will most definitely notice more things and add them to the comments list. For now, just accept my gratitude for being allowed to beta test.
