Finally hint for using the Scare spell, do NOT use it as a defensive measure if heroes get too close to your gold, at that point it's already too late, you scare them back but most likely what didn't stop them earlier still isn't going to stop them. Cast the spell right next to the entrance as soon as a new wave of heroes comes through, you'll scare them right out of the dungeon. You can fire off a scare spell about once for every 2 groups of heroes that comes in, obviously doesn't work against paladiens (sic). Also there are a couple maps where the first room is very close to the stairs and a straight shot, put ghosts there with their scare ability maxed you'll get a similar effect, scares them right out of the dungeon without having to knock their HP down.
Also there is a bit of an exploit with the spells, in that if you click a spell and have it read when a hint/tip comes up you can cast that spell an unlimited amount of times, also you can do a similar thing by having a spell ready, and clicking the buttons at the top of the screen you cast the spell but the icon doesn't go away and you can keep casting it, easy way to get those spell casting achievements.
Nice game, did manage to zip through it, later levels got increasingly more tough. Some issues I didn't like were that the automation of "hiring" monsters was way too pricey of a star cost, all so I don't need to click a button? I'm sorry that should be a given feature. Also if you're going to restrict monsters to one per area, you need to make them significantly more tougher, like take out lower tiered "heroes" in one shot type tough, considering only one attacks at a time and the rest walk through. Also money production is a bit low for the game, no way to increase that? Also a couple bugs I noticed, is that occasionally some heroes would walk right through monster dens without being attacked, even when there weren't any engagements going on, so they walk through, grab a chest and walk right out... this rarely happened but because it still did.
Funny "story" aside this doesn't seem terribly different than other TD games, replace towers with people, they still can be tweaked/leveled up between levels, yet every time you start a level you have to spend "something" to level them up to their full potential that you already spent money/experience/etc on in between the levels. Hey look at my level 5 ranger who can shoot all sorts of things out her butt, but whoops, next level, awww back to level 1, need to spend PSI to get her back to kicking butt
Fun game, same game as before though, just a Christmas edition. Same rules apply, you do well by putting all upgrade points into what your "troops" can do (attack, defend, speed, "agility") and spells play a minor role unless you really are behind in stats.
Very fun game, super original idea with upgrade system, however air is a little wonky. I don't mind the big mega air fortress thing shooting off a ton of missiles, the helicopter is a bit overpowered though. Ideally thought the best fix would be a money fix, and give more money per unit destroyed, yeah there's the recycling center, but by the time you can buy enough of those to make a difference you usually don't really need much money.
How many levels are there? I finished 12, got some "ending"(??) about there being lots of tunnels, however the "Achievement Unlocked" achievement of finishing all levels on normal hasn't triggered. Do I have to beat them all on other modes and then more levels pop up?
Advice for this game, or any future game/sequel: 1) Hot keys, a must 2) No confirmation "cast spell" required for spells, I don't want to fire a spell out as things are getting fast and intense let me do it 3) adjust the water mage, while yeah it can hit everything in a line, its lack of power and lack of speed make it useless, there never are that many units on one line to make it useful 4) soldier classes, since they're essentially walls, and the only way to heal them is by upgrading, make the monster they attack require an attack animation or freeze them for a moment, or something. Overall a fun game, but a bit too much repetition and the later levels are too fast to be any fun, even with the slow spell.
You REALLY need hot keys instead of clicking to make things happen, no way I could get past later levels simply because I can't click and move the mouse quick enough to make things happen.
Need a way to heal units other than upgrading them.
Sometimes its hard to click on a soldier as its rushing to attack, dead soldier.
Water mage isn't completely useless, he attacks everyone in a row, just a bit under powered.
Colossus hints: Don't use your strongest guys vs it, you will lose quickly. The key to beating it is spamming fast, cheap units, hobbits & goblins, and then have your ranged units tick away at it.
Keep this bumped so people stop asking this damn question without searching through the older messages.
Strawhatt, the key to beating the Colossus is the speed of his attack animation. You need to have fast movers that respawn quickly (goblins, hobbits, etc) yeah he'll kill them instantly, but if they get back to him before he starts moving, he'll attack again, and again and won't move... then have your ranged guys slowly peck away at him. The hard part is managing all the other monsters that come.
Neat game, a bit sketchy on why there are even stars for each level, doesn't seem like having all three stars or just one star makes a difference (perhaps hardcore mode requires all perfect?). Also the pets are neat, however its a bit disappointing that some of the mechanics of what makes them useful are features that can be annoying to games, i.e. collecting coins, there's a pet for that! mana that slowly recharges, there's a pet for that! The one that scares flyers is the only one that does something out of the ordinary.
The are 15 levels in total, 3 are initially hidden.
