When I buy an item I also swing my weapon making me move, so the best way to buy is to jump while pressing A, if you want to buy multiple stocks of something. I'm not entirely sure but maybe it wasn't like that throughout the whole game. I have my weapon/strength fully upgraded and have the bargaining skill, if those could've changed anything. Little tweaks like that and some bugfixes and this is instantly a solid RPG with a cute artstyle, good humor and nice gameplay design.
I think encountered the same bug as rebelredd. I was hit by the big cactus-things into the green box and then I was stuck spinning (knockback fall) in one position forever. Pausing and exiting the level is still possible as a temporary solution. The level was 3-4 "Ye Olde Hideout" section 3/5
I played on normal and felt that it was very easy. The only time was close to die was in the first 5 minutes when I was testing how things worked and what was hostile. I loved the style, mood and especially the voice acting. It almost felt like it could become a classic, but I didn't feel it got all the way there. As some other people are saying, a bit more depth and purpose of/while navigating around the map could maybe help that. Again; awesome job. Would love to see more. 4/5.
"Into Space" by BarbarianGames? I don't have anything against using parts of another game as foundation to create a new game but I feel this doesn't bring anything new to the table. It's the same game redone with less balancing and tweaking done and a whale backstory.
@Eternal_Serenity I think level 56 is supposed to be a mind game. Hint: There's only 1 exit. ...and SPOILER: I just used the first magnet to make it back through the entrance.
I just tried level 57 again and did it in the first try. All it takes is practice of timing. Instructions: Tap twice, wait half a second and tap a third time. Wait half a second to hold the next magnet a half second. Release and then tap quickly through all three circling groups, without actually getting into them. Quickly hold on the next magnet. This is hardest part: 1. Release and go as close to the next wall as possible then hold the magnet until you're almost hit by a wall. 2. If the teleport will teleport you backwards, then just do it twice to be back on a forward-going route. Good luck.
Level 57 was the most difficult level for me. After some time you learn that you can quickly teleport through most of the level effortlessly though. The hardest part is the end.
Sadly this didn't affect me very much. I like the concept of a psychological game but I think being a commands-by-text-based game makes the game a bit less intriguing for me. For instance, "Go into box" and "walk into box" didn't work but "step into box" did. I don't particularly enjoy the "learning the command language" aspect of games like this. I enjoy the story, the psychological journey and humorous easter eggs etc. With some improvements a good game could come out of this. 3/5
Just got 71,000 meters. I got lucky with a potion + 3rd horn combination which results with a speed of about 1300. Then I focused on killing all monsters with the precise amount of hits, and falling as less as possible, because a sudden drop in speed seems to trigger the lava to follow you, no matter which speed you're at. After failing so many times I started to learn how many hits each monster needs after each ceiling, so I knew I would get it eventually. Hope that helps, and good luck. 5/5 and fav'ed. Love your games JB.
Speed doesn't seem to matter for the lava. I just got 63,000 while focusing on being precise with my kills and avoiding to fall, and that seems to be the trick.
Okay, I just lost to lava with a speed of 400 at 45,000 meters. Last round I lost to lava at 35,000 with a speed of 1100, so speed musn't matter too much. I'm guessing it's about focusing on never falling down, but would anyone be kind enough to hint me?
I'm currently at the final stage of the game and I must say it has been an amazing ride for me so far. Lots of times I thought I was just about to beat the intentional game level by e.g. saving 2 princesses in one run, but I always only came close. The only thing I dislike is fighting the purple waves on the final stage with a keyboard. I just switched to mouse and then it was so much easier, but it was a bit annoying when I played the rest with a keyboard. Otherwise, great game, I didn't think you could outdo Burrito Bison but I must say I think you hit spot on. Looking forward to the next thing you'll come up with. 5/5.
What am I supposed to do in the "Defeat at least 2 of 3 critter kings". I have the first and second horn unlocked. Am I supposed to finish off one of each in one run or what is it?
Lots of bugs and performance issues. What's happening with jmbt02's games lately? John has always been gameplay > everything else, and I highly agree, but I must admit I think this is getting too much. I think he knows it too, so something must be up. Please, if it's not lack of money or some other responsibilities forcing you to release games early, I'd like you to consider looking into these issues. Gameplay: 4/5 but the lag and bugs made me land on a 3/5. Don't want to be mean or demanding but that's how I feel about it.
