First thing I have to say is that it's a little headache-inducing... glad it was only two levels for the badge. But the gameplay was fun and kept simple, and I can't fault the intentionally-retro graphics. As two levels, it's an unenjoyed 3/5 from me, with a strange feeling of happiness that the rest of the levels are premium, because I'd probably torture myself through them if they weren't.
I like it, but... it doesn't seem to have replay value, and no real effort or skill is needed. It's also missing a lot of things I'd expect in a game of this type - variability in launch, findable boosts. Just seems to lack... depth.
I'm struggling to place this. Exactly as expected from a BTD game (and that's a top gaming experience), but the lack of a quality button is something of a downer with so much going on at once. The speed button is rather inconvenient and a click-on click-off would have been better. I have no issue with premium content so that in itself is fine, but the constant reminders that I can buy this or that every time I blink reminds me of Adventure Quest - which is irritating. I wanted to give a 5, but the little niggling issues drops it to a 4.
It's not so much a game, more an animation with the occasional need to press an arrow to move to the next scene. As an animation, beautiful. As a game, crap.
Decent game for the genre, pretty much standard stuff and fun to play. But half the time it loads and replays the splash screens in a loop, and quarter of the time it loads a game screen with no character on it. But yeah, for the 1/4 of loads that actually work, it's good.
Graphics are nice. Shame that the overdone graphics actually detract from the gaming experience, and that everything else that makes up the game has been done a dozen times better countless times over by games which are far more enjoyable, easy to play, and attractive. Extremely poor, especially with the amount of cash it must have had thrown at it... a flash gaming version of Waterworld.
I like Battalion games, but the memory usage and leaking is ridiculous. Becomes unplayable after 2 battles... yes, it's part my fault for having a crap computer, but my crap computer doesn't have a problem with any other game on the site. Only this, and Arena...
Just didn't have fun playing. It was missing that little something that a game needs to make me want to play it - towards the end, it felt like watching Godfather III (expended more thought on hoping it would end soon than I did on playing it).
Ignoring the 'problems', it's a very good game. Challenging, interesting... but I just can't bring myself to give a game that has [insert annoying stuff, the revelation of which would spoil the game for others] more than a 1. So, a regretful 1/5.
Played it for around an hour and already found one game-breaking glitch, and one to let you skip a lot of battles. It's amazing no one spotted them during testing, unless they were left in there intentionally.
