I really wish that there were a 2 slide explanation at the beginning of this. As it stands, I know to hit space and make people, and I know the badge wants me to make people, so that's what I did for 15 minutes. Now I'm done and won't be playing anymore because I still don't know what the actual game is.
You can hold down Z, X, or C to continuously attack... This may be obvious to everyone but me, but I've been trying to get the medium badge on and off over the course of four years without success until today by hitting the button each time I want to attack. Hold down X and walk toward the enemy (particularly the big ones) and you win.
I'd like to rate this more highly, but levels 13 and 14 (especially 14) require absurdly close timing of button presses to complete. It goes beyond fun into tedium.
@SixthFlame If muting a game is that important, just mute the site preemptively. It's possible in most browsers if you right click the tab that you're working in.
Wow, if you build a sufficiently complicated maze and send a bunch of waves you can completely defeat the pathfinding ability of the pirates. Unfortunately you can also spawn immortal melting pirates that pop in and out of the ground like Whack-A-Mole guys.
There are too many extremely easy ways to win. In every maps I could win simply by terraforming a big flat spot in the ocean and letting my people expand until I had overwhelming population superiority. Once the Water Storm and Armageddon abilities are available, it gets easier, or at least faster. With Water Storm, build a relatively high plateau, make sure it gets settled properly (maybe 4 castles) and then Water Storm all of your enemies out of existence. With Armageddon, once your population is greater than the enemy's, cast and win. It's basically the original strategy but faster.
I keep waiting for the "flatten everything around my starting point then click Find a Fight" strategy to stop working, or to be even remotely resisted by the enemy, but it's not happened yet and I've finished map 13. I've never used any abilities other than terraform and waypoint and I'm through almost half of the maps. That's a problem.
What could have been a cute little dressing up kitty for battle game was actually a poorly controlled grind with no end in sight. The difficulty jump between area 1 and area 2 was enormous, and adding stats through either leveling (incredibly slow) or equipment (incredibly RNG based) didn't seem to help much. I finally finished the 100 equipment badge just by jumping past as many enemies as possible in area 2 and hoping for keys, then dying when I'd face a pair of them. Also, Empty Chest is not fun.
Oddly enough, I found the hard badge to be much, much easier than the medium. I finally finished the boss off at the end of normal mode and then got the hard badge on my first attempt at endless. Homing missiles made a huge difference. I just saved Napalm Wave for helicopters and avoided damage as much as possible. The homing missiles and marksmen took care of the enemies for me.
Loved all of the bubble tank games, including this one, but I just remembered why I never got the badges on this one until recently - it crashes constantly for me. Lots of finished levels that just sit there and do nothing, for instance.
