OK - Level 25 spoiler. Sequence 1: Click left or right lens based on whether each letter in the sequence is facing left or right. Sequence 2: Click left or right based on whether the individual R's in the sequence are facing left or right. Sequence 3: Ditto E's. Sequence 4: Ditto D's. Sequence 5: Is the word RED spelled forward (RED) or backward (DER) regardless of how its letters are facing? Click accordingly. I made that way harder than it needed to be.
Level 25 seems broken. I get that there are a set of patterns that you can click, but the game's response seems completely arbitrary. If left is 0 and right is 1, and we're doing 3 click patterns (for R E D) then you've got 000, 001, 010, 011, 100, 101, 110, and 111 as possibilities. I've tried clicking each of these patterns multiple times and have only managed to make the 5 section turn red. It seems arbitrary at best.
Using cards for the badges is potentially helpful, but it's not at all clear HOW to use them if you're new to the game. Step 1: Go to the forum post listing codes. Step 2: Enter the codes in the social tab. (most recent first, working back a couple of weeks until they quit working) Step 3: Click Activities --> Cards --> Card Packs. You should see several Tiny Packs available. Step 4: Open the packs, making sure to collect at least enough of a given card type to earn its bonus. (10 minimum) You can see how many of each card you've got and the associated bonuses and requirements for higher level bonuses in the Cards main menu. If you do what I did and just collect a bunch of different cards, you've wasted the entire bonus.
I clicked yellow cards, then blue cards, then red cards. I didn't even notice the three buttons at the top left until the 3rd from final fight. Add in unskippable dialogue after every single fight and a giant sigh is all that comes to mind.
Divine Edge gives 1000% damage (10 times multiplier). Keep leveling weapons when you can and use armor upgrades to stay alive. After day 8 or so you can buy Divine Edge and hope for a dragon. Use it immediately upon entering the encounter and you should 1 shot the thing. I never seemed to have the luck to collect enough for a golden ticket, but that is another route.
Tried playing by eye: not even close to functional. Tried playing by ear: better, but still bad enough that I couldn't ever get the timing for the second note in the tutorial. 1/5
I honestly have no idea how the attack system works. Sometimes I press attack and my sword just glows and kills the bad guy, sometimes I press attack and a sword pops up with red and gray regions and when I stop the slider in red I kill the bad guy, but other times when I stop the slider in gray it kills him (and of course, there are times when in red/gray it fails and I take a hit.) Less time spent being philosophical about running from fears and more time spent being clear about controls would have been nice.
For anyone who is not a fan of platformers, the first bottle is found at the beginning of Outer Squiggleville as part of the story, you don't have to go looking for it.
BigBangorBigBen Canada Geese have dark brown/black eyes on black feathers. The white things are a patch of feathers that forms a large, white chinstrap.
I like this game, it's a nice combination of several Japanese pen and paper puzzle games I enjoy. Not sure how long it's going to take me to get to 150 though...
I won the first two badges for this on August 22, 2008. I completed 6 of the 7 challenges for the hard badge at that time. This morning I said to myself, "Why on Earth didn't you finish the hard badge?!?" Ten seconds into the 4th challenge, I remembered the awful controls and completely arbitrary targeting of this game.
bliznitch - Your arcane and divine stats are swapped. Also, any chest can be a genie chest, not just gold. I got on as the very first thing I opened in one attempt.
