The Horde feels much weaker than the other 2 sides. I think having their strong units be city only and not really having any good magic to help them early is just too crippling, especially when coupled with the fact that many enemies from the Cult and the Empire are immune to their poison, and their immortals are so awful that you pretty much have to rely on the archers without a city, so enemies being immune to a significant portion of their damage is pretty huge. Incidentally, I like the Cult the most, but the Duchy still felt fine, and is definitely the easiest to start with.
not being able to have your guys retreat under any circumstances is really frustrating. I literally just had my city's garrison fight off 2 units, and then go and attack the enemy city because they just barely got within attack range, so instead of finishing building my city they go kill themselves.
I ran into a pretty serious bug playing the cult where I tried to use the ice enchantment, It wouldn't cast, and then when I clicked it the like 4th time it went off and dropped me to -400 mana.
I agree that the incredibly imprecise controls really hurt this game. There are points that feel especially unfair when I hold down the direction what feels like just about as fast as possible, and it just doesn't quite make it anyways. That feeling that your reactions have to be absolutely instantaneous because you have no control of speed at all really just makes me not care anymore.
I would rather be playing a slot machine, there is approximately the same amount of skill involved, but at least I might win some money. "Pro" packs aren't just rarer cards or whatever like in other terrible CCGMMO's, they are actually a new set that is vastly superior, so you can't really play at all without cash. WTF?
I really liked this game, I was playing it a lot and enjoying the tech trees and ship design and stuff. I finally get my hands on a few commander cards, and I find out that even if you keep them in card form, you still can't combine them into a useful commander. I have 3 commander cards, and 2 of them are randomly bound so I would have to pay cash to do anything with them. This is simply not acceptable, and it is enough to single-handedly cause me to quit. If it was possible, I might have payed for reasonable things down the line, but the fact that you just cannot get good commanders without money no matter what, it's just too much. Everything needs to be available at a much slower rate for no cash. Period. I'm not gonna pay money every time I want a halfway decent commander, no matter how much I like the rest of the game.
I suppose I shouldn't be, but I am suprised by the immensely negative comments here. This game certainly isn't a 1/5, it is nowhere even close to that recent terrible superhero card game or anything, and a lot of the comments seem to be people who are confused by bafflingly simple things. Certainly not my favorite game on the site, but it certainly is not a bad game, and I enjoy the large amount of meaningful decisions involved in most of the fights. Shockingly, this does not include the like 20 minute long tutorial area, because the game doesn't try to kill you when you're learning for some reason.
I would like to see the ability to buy more plots in the town, so every new building you want to add has an additional cost. The buildings cost so much that it would still be prohibitive, and the bonuses are quite minor, but it would be nice to have that feeling of progression, instead of just slowly getting more options.
Tried to use the better units, they were working OK, but then I got to the mechs and got completely demolished. Went back to the basic guys and they weren't even a problem. The advanced guys need to be waaaaay better for how expensive/time consuming they are, because building them is detrimental currently, especially when the enemy gets units that are stronger than them even on medium.
Developer should really put how to save in the description or instructions or something, the need to refresh is super unintuitive and playing this game without saving is really not feasible, so if nobody tells you how to save you are kind of done.
My storage is and always has been set to unlimited, and every time I've tried to play this it deletes my saves. I do not have any problems with any other games, it is definitely you. Your game is far too long and sandboxy to seriously expect people to do it in one sitting, this is kind of a serious problem.
I just can't seem to take Atropos. I have all the earlier levels perfected and no bombed, but I have no Idea how I'm supposed to dodge some of his stuff without constant focus. It doesn't help that every phase lasts a year and his hp doesn't really move regardless of what I do.
Gameplay got repetitive by the 4th level. I feel like I'm missing something because so many people seem to love this game, but it seems like you just flatten as much of your land as possible and then set it to look for a fight and win. Sometimes I cast fire and stuff, but it seems to do more harm than good, because I have less buildings to steal after I burn half of it down.
The more islands you complete the more power totems you'll collect. It's all about strategy, for example try planting trees around another tribes buildings and then setting fire to them to help maximise damage :D
