I agree with Tussoc that the starting launcher is a waste of time. Even when it's fully upgraded it hardly flings me any distance at all. Especially when considered relative to the total length of the course. Please make the launcher propel me a more generous a distance, it's getting really tiresome to have to keep repeating the same worlds over and over again in order to advance. Checkpoints would be an improvement, even if they only kick in once all upgrades have been purchased.
Re: enemy/hazard - Maybe something that's slim, seeing as there's not too much room to dodge a lot of the time. Something like torpedoes, arrows, snakes or worms? Or maybe something that doesn't move but forces Greeny around them like a stalactite/mite or icicle or even the good ol' spikes of death. Or any kind of weird creature clinging to the roof/ground. Some pick-ups would be great too; invincibility, temporary shrink in size, shield, scores etc.
Fun and oddly addictive. As endearing as a green pill with a jet pack is(or what appear to be possibly life threatening digestive problems), some characterisation would be cool. A couple of eyes would do it, to start with. I like the way going higher lets you go higher still and the turrets are a good idea, but I wish there was some kind of reward for shooting them. Some progression in the gameplay is desirable, to keep me playing anyway. For example; new kinds of turrets, hazards to dodge, increased movement speed, choice of route to take, enemies coming from behind or moving towards Greeny the prozac of doom (with a jetpack). I assume that's his name. :) 3.5/5 for now.
Thanks, I wanted to do that stuff but I only had 24hrs to make it. A lot of things take a fair amount of time i.e. textures, models, animation as well as designing levels and story. I would like to come up with another type of enemy/hazard. Can you think of any?
I'm trying to comment without saying too much about the game, so as not to skew your results if people read this before playing! The first time I tried to load the game, I had a "failed to download" error. After refreshing the page I managed to complete the second part but now I think it's crashed as it's been stuck on "Loading: 80.37%" for more than five minutes now. What I did do though was quite interesting and I think I have an idea of the sort of questions you're asking in this research. I didn't reload and try again because I thought that now I know the second part my results wouldn't be as valid. Anyway good luck with your research! A link to the abstract when it's ready would be good to include in the game description, so we can find out what it is you found out.
I'm finding this stacker to be a bit more difficult than most, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wish more than one level would unlock at a time though. This way I can skip a level and then come back later to try again. The way it is now, I'm stuck on a level, so that's it. I either keep trying and trying until I've pulled all my hair out and cried my way into life-threatening dehydration or go play something else. I like the little noises the blocks make, though! >_< I've rated it 3/5 for now.
SPOILER!.................................................You need to do some maths with the two 3 digit numbers. Make sure you've placed four pumpkins on the gravestone first.
This is a great game and very addicting, but there is one thing that spoils it; the choice of colours for the blocks! Why choose such similar colours? It can get a bit confusing. 4/5, but top marks if the colours are changed.
Having to start over from the beginning after failing spoils it for me. I'd prefer to be able to start from the same level again. Or perhaps 3-5 lives would be an improvement? I prefer this version to the Halloween themed one though, the fruit fit together more snugly!
I'm flying over Area 51, right? That explains the weird flying thingies and stealth aircraft after me, I reckon. I wish you would listen to your players though, Podge. This is a fun game but every single comment here is lamenting the extortionate prices of the upgrades. This completely ruins the game. I was also disappointed to find that there are no bonuses for getting the achievements. I'd love to hear your reasoning on the upgrade pricing. Podge?
Ooooo.K. I just realised what this actually is! It plays great, lots of detail and I'm sure this would be a good shooter, bum tubes aside. Except there aren't any enemies spawning after the first 5 or 6 are killed, which kind of massacres the fun! Great for all you coprophiles out there!
I just don't like to play mahjong games that lack the option to turn off the highlighting of available tiles. It's just too easy when they're highlighted. Please add the option to do so, dev?!
