I like the graphics, and the spells were fun (why ever go melee? Dodging is a hassle compared to ranged attacks.) Repeated monsters were ok because there were quite a few of them. Bosses were decent in variety. And the cons: Having to choose between level-appropriate HP and level-appropriate damage was a bit frustrating (I chose damage, and don't regret it). HP+20/level would still be conservative for this game. Having to wait a minute for a boss to be vulnerable was annoying.
Also, oh! That text at the end was a sequel hook, not a under-100%-completion ending. I didn't like it.
Overall: 3.5/5 - I liked it.
Seems like if you concentrate on spells, it's like a slower, easier Binding of Isaac. Not bad. But would you please make the movement speed increases more noticeable? I'm at max speed and still feel slow.
It seems my game is unwinnable? I "need a key" (even though I already have keys) to get through what I assume is a boss door, but there aren't any keys on this level, even after killing all the enemies and double-checking every room. I had to go back to the menu and re-enter from floor 1 =/ (I'd prefer if the boss door opened automatically)
It'd be awesome if there were a button I could hold to snap lines to the edge of objects already in the area (rather than just getting a red line). I think I can't draw well enough to carry out some of my plans
"Climb" seems to have odd properties - the dibbles can climb up either side of a wall with "climb" on it, as though "climb" stayed on them once they got it, but can't climb up any other walls, as though "climb" doesn't stay on them.
It's a bit odd that pushing down in one location dismounts from the horse, while in another results in the horse jumping over the pit. That confused me for a few minutes.
This was fun at the start. It's really made for hardcore gamers - I've played Binding of Isaac, and I thought this game was hard. There were a few frustrating things though. 1. Having to use 4 shots on an enemy when the Blunderbuss is upgraded to max is LAME. 2. Being swarmed by enemies without having any obstacles to lead them around makes the game harder than it needs to be. 3. Having to get a certain number of stars to fight the boss is almost as annoying as micro-transactions. And there's no optional levels, because the requirements for the final boss are so high! That's just a pain.
Eh, I give it 3/5 stars. The "x-in-a-row" achievements are just terrible (just make them "x total"), but I made 1-2 mistakes on each puzzle and won them all anyways, so it wasn't too punishing. And it was kinda fun.
In the first puzzle, I thought "I found the murder weapon, and it's a gun! So I can dismiss the suspects that are experts in knives." Which was all 3 suspects. Then in the 2nd puzzle I looked at it again and thought "Is it a gun or a knife?" Only later did I get that it's a stock photo.
Seems like you need to be good at minesweeper (and lucky, which is redundant) to find all the clues 7 times in a row, and deductive (or super lucky) to get the suspect 7 times in a row.
Ugh, I loved William and Sly 2, but not the first one nor this game. There was SO MUCH PADDING in this game, I dreaded every time I had to travel from the blimp to the town. Sure, it looked nice, and the BGM was good. I just didn't like having to go through it so slowly.
*Sphinx gives me riddle with an answer of "nothing" and tells me to return with it.* *I return with nothing* *Instead of taking the answer she tells me the riddle again* 1/5 =/
