I'm sorry developer. I know my last comment seems a bit unnecessarily mean, but I honestly just feel like the entirety of The Gauntlet was poorly implemented. I feel like you could make a legitimately difficult challenge, worthy of an impossible badge, without resorting to mountains and mountains of randomness.
No problem, I walked right into that one, haha.
Yes, I'm not happy with the way the Gauntlet works, and I'm sorry towards all the players who just got frustrated instead of experiencing a fun challenge. Any similar challenges in the full game will be completely rethought.
I'll see what can be done about it, but the base scenario is that the version on Kongregate stays as it is. The last thing I want is to make the players who actually managed to get the badge feel cheated out of the effort they put in.
The developer: "However, I have good reason to believe the bar for completion is significantly lower than most people seem to think." Also the developer: "I believe 14 is the highest possible score reachable once you master the game, but go ahead prove me wrong with your crazy game-breaking prowess!"
I have a bizarre fascination with sending the little character flying off the screen into the void... I don't know what's so good about it, but it's fun. I'm a monster.
For badge hunters: There are only 10 levels in this game. To get the badge, first you have to beat the 10 levels normally, then you have to go to the title screen, switch it to "light mode", then play through all ten levels again. The light mode levels are almost identical to the normal levels, except the ground is white instead of black, plus the ending is slightly different.
Well, I beat it. I killed the cyclops and beat the game. That's it. There are only two bosses. "But Sarah, that's not the end! You have to kill four bosses and then defeat the Darkness! And there's probably more after that!" I know, but I'm calling the second boss the last boss, because that's all I can handle right now.
Right, now that I've had a chance to play this game properly, and see it all the way to the end with 0 deaths somehow, I have to say that this is a nice little game. It's deceptive how in-depth the strategy actually is, despite the simple premise. Here's hoping it gets badges. Thank you for adding the option to return to the main menu; refreshing every time I failed got a bit annoying.
Thank you for suggesting the main menu option, it really made sense, yet it hadn't crossed my mind... I'm glad you enjoyed Gimme Potato! I too hope it gets badges, that would be awesome, but the game needs to reach a rating of 3.8 for that to happen. How about showing Gimme Potato to some friends and ask them to help us out? :D
While the game is interesting enough and a pretty decent alternative to its predecessor, I do have to be critical on one aspect: The art is rather poor. Don't get me wrong; the game is good, but I just feel like it takes away from it a little bit. :\
I want the final game in the series to be called Papa's Existential Nightmaria, where he finally has a mental breakdown and wonder what the point of all of this was.
