Laruen I'd recommend that you include a hint that it doesn't have to be in a row or even touching. ANY 3 pieces on the board can be used for a match
it took me a few minutes to figure it out but then the game was fun for a while
as always your games are some of the best released during the month
both because they are fun little games and because your competition is a bunch of clickers and idle 'games'
rated 4/5 ONLY because it isn't an idle game or clicker.
let's see- major glitches (check)
boss that is more chance than skill (check)
is it a bad game? . . . well no, but back when people made actual games this would 'barely' get a 3
A bit of a strategy guide for people:
Thieves are your enemy BUT early game do not trap them. Ideally you want the castle as close to done before you work on the prince path (and the game won't start giving 'higher' people until you spawn them)
I figured it out, the problem isn't the ranged units it is that your side becomes incapable when fighting them (particularly the necromancer) still a good game though
So a few things: Please test your game at least a little bit before releasing it (for example the mage t3 abilities don't improve by leveling them up) and more hp does not make enemies harder. Really I just fought the beetle queen or whatever it is called. . . I just sat there drinking potions for 5 minutes
I want to enjoy this assault on the eyes. Even with very little direction it seems like a semi-tolerable game. Minor point- the word prisoner has one n not 2
great game, just one problem. The final boss can get stuck mid 'jump'? and just becomes idle from that point on. I basically spent 15 seconds fighting then 45 seconds constantly attacking it
I think it was alot of fun, kind of easy though.
Why do the later stages push you back one when you die?
4/5 (sorry but any 'like and share' nonsense immediately prevents a 5 from me)
The later levels have extra replayability in them. There are different ways to solve these levels.
While the other levels have little to none replayability.
'like and share' nonsense immediately prevents a 5 from me.
That's easy to say when you are not shit broke making Indie Games for free.
so I originally voted this 5/5 despite knowing that it is a cash grab because I had fun but.
Between numerous glitches. Serious imbalance, the challenges are just unfair (to specific . . .lose ranks to hopefully win with a weaker army than you have cards for) and level being more important than anything makes this the ultimate p2w
new rating 2/5
I'll say it is quite fun, there are some balance issues, and why do units 'fight right' with no option to 'fight left' if both are available. There are also bugs, and claiming it is P2W seems honest already (cards that level up and a chance game where buying a specific card repeatedly is the optimal strategy is inherently p2w)
honestly I wasn't expecting much when I started it
and after 5 minutes I was bored already.
Why can he only aim right?
Why do the boomerangs ignore gravity and circle his default position?
I'll be the first to admit, it is alot of fun at first. . . then you realize that it is just a slow grindfest and the RNG gods mean much more than your skill/strategy- the rarer items are volumes better than the less rare ones
it was a great game just 2 minor things
1) auto pickup please
2) we seem to have a very different idea of what 'humanoid' is (apparently elves aren't?)
Oh and the difficulty, it went from completely easy to quite hard instantly (the 3rd? to the last mission I think when you had to go to the right side of the forest)
that said 5/5
We did the best we could in the time given for the jam, with more dev time we'd have sure added more enemies and art content! :) I'm glad you enjoyed the game nonetheless
I enjoyed the game (got to level 28 before getting bored) a few things though:
What is 'support' does it stack? what does it exactly do?
What about unbreakable? The only character to use it seems to just run past everyone effortlessly.
Spells are SUPER ambiguous and generally worthless
There is WAY to much randomness, which I assume becomes more apparent later because the enemy already spawns a small army before I get a card and can take down a chunk of my life. This means that if the first draw or 2 are terrible it makes more sense to restart a stage
3/5
I think it is a great game, that said the upgrades are kind of unclear (how far is 'close'?) and some are inherently better than others 25% damage increase is better than 30% but -15% shield the minor boost isn't worth the massive downside
really though I think it is the best new game this month (granted not being a cash-shop dominant or idle game puts it in the top 5 already)
I know, but later in the game when the easy choiches where made, what did you chose?
30% dmg -15%shield OR 30 % shield - 7.5% dmg ?
There are a lot of choiches who remove the specular path.
Don't worry. I hate p2w too! So it's in-game shoppable items are not game-breaking neither mandatory.
Btw for close upgrade you get the maximum value if you shoot in the face, this value diminished the further you are from the target, removing the bonus if the enemy is at the very top and you are at the very bottom.
I'd rate it higher if it wasn't clearly exp starving you for no apparent reason. Failing a stage should be because you feel like you screwed up not because 'if only I had another 3 levels to actually do enough damage to beat the stage
the (last?) stage on the first (area?) isn't hard for the sake of hard, 'here let me spawn 20 giant blobs all at once' . . . yeah my max damage fireball hardly scratches them
to the people complaining about the controls. . . I take it you've never played a moba, fps, or really anything except flash games?
I enjoy it but I think the regen should function more as a life leech.
As it stands survival is more about fire and let one live to regen and fill the 'bonus' heart than actually playing.
And please just cut the first like 4 levels they are just slow and boring (the 'tutorial' explains literally nothing) they are no challenge, and everyone knows damage and bullet spread are the first upgrades.
Also. . . why am I playing as a geriatric grandma? Even maximizing movespeed feels like I am having a brisk walk
Thanks, I'll update "How to play".
