Amusingly enough, the ad that played while this game was loading for me was for Metroid Other M, where Samus is talking about how her past pushes her forward and whatnot. It actually took me a few levels before I finally noticed. "Wait... Why are we still talking about the past? This isn't the commercial anymore!"
Unfortunately, a bug on one of the last "backwards" levels stopped my previous selves from spawning, so I never saw the ending.
Rule #6 of game design: Innovation should not come at the cost of gameplay value. Perhaps if you made at least the most basic movements keyboard-controlled, like moving forward, and simply saved the "click and drag yourself around" bit for NEW features. Maybe add some new obstacles on the ground in the process, so there are some situations where you DO need to use your hand to move forward... but only to get past that obstacle. Your idea has potential, if you can find a better way to execute it.
There appears to be some sort of bug involving movement speed. When I played the game yesterday, I would only ever move at an incredibly slow pace, though my oxygen ran out at the regular rate, making the game pretty much unplayable. I thought I was doing something wrong, but today I move at the same pace... Except that on occassion the sub will lurch forward at a speed that one could be more reasonably expected to survive at. However, it only lasts for a second before returning to the slow movement, which means it's still impossible for me to reach any treasure without drowning. Has anybody else experienced this, and know a possible solution?
Now wait.... I must be doing something wrong, because it's currently impossible for me to reach more than the first three treasure chests in the game. I am moving INCREDIBLY slowly, but I'm not sure if that's intentional for the un-upgraded sub or what.
Well, naturally, people who come in as soon as the game is released and pass judgement without even playing very far into it will be impatient "haters". Meanwhile, people who take the time to see what the game is about are more likely to appreciate it.
However, this game is still rated lower than Sonny. Fix it, people.
Uh, what? I just "spoke" to the shaft of light where the Sea Hag was in Chapter 2, and it triggered the Sea Hag dialogue scene and boss fight from that chapter... It probably has to do with an event tag that wasn't triggered since my save wasn't carried over from that chapter.
Hmm, yes... Many people don't understand how the Game Over screen works, and it's understandable. The existence of the "More Games" button leads people to believe that the screen is meant to be controlled through buttons, and therefore they complain that there's no "retry" rather than simply pressing X.
Please, please, put some kind of indicator in the game itself that you can split your cell by clicking on the area inside the "pod" buttons once it's filled up with green. It took me FAR too long to figure that out, and I don't think I missed any tutorial warnings. Even if I did, it should be mentioned in the description, perhaps. And then there's the issue with switching between them using Tab...
Hmm... I don't fully understand the gameplay, but you may want to reconsider having "Tab" be one of the commands. For me at least, pressing Tab while playing Flash games simply causes the browser to focus on some other aspect of the website.
Hmm... Also, the reward for the "Time Stopper" achievements is an amount of soul equal to the achievements you got. In other words, if you clear the time limit in all stages, you get 25 soul. Yeah...
So wait... Unless I'm mistaken, the final upgrade for zombie increases the mana cost by 10 but doesn't make it any stronger. Is this a bug? I'd think the intent would be to increase the infection rate to 100%, not make them harder to make...
"Deadly Ring: Grants the user with deadly strength." Bit of grammar wierdness there. Incidentally, didn't you say we would be able to select floors in the new version? If it's only unlocked after beating 100, my bad.
I know it's been said before, but the specific reason why spell hotkeys MUST be implemented is because there are certain stages which end with "Ninja" Champions where there is simply not enough time to hit them with the required amount of meteors. Even with a full +40% fully upgraded AoE temple (the highest single hit damage in the game, with an additional slow effect), it takes four fully upgraded meteors to finish them off, and they invisibly reach the gems in enough time for three at best. Literally the ONLY other way to defeat them is to make sure they're hit by a Crypt and pray that the 25% chance to freeze triggers on them. If it fails, you have to restart the level. Period.
Wow... I flew up to three kilometers, and when I hit the ground I crashed right through it and continued falling into an endless void. Always gotta be careful of things like that in games with "physics".
