There should be an option to turn off the magnet. Or the star-catcher. Or both. That way you could just enjoy the art, or enjoy the effect of the magnet, or catch all the stars "by hand" without magnet help.
After a certain point, the magnet takes up the entire screen, so you can't even see the artwork.
If you want the game to run while you're doing something else on the computer, open whatever you're doing in a second window, and keep the size just barely small enough so that a piece of this game can peek through. That will keep Flash from going "inactive".
There's one major problem... Restarting from the first wave causes you to lose all of your upgrade points from achievements. I would prefer if it only reset the points from completing the wave, so that our achievements can carry over between games.
When completing the game, it doesn't actually reward you with the weapon stones from the achievement... Or at least it didn't in the version that I played when I beat it.
Just so you know, this doesn't qualify as an "Action RPG". It still counts as Turn-Based even if the turns are taken automatically. Action RPGs consist of your character moving around and fighting enemies on the map without going into a "battle phase".
I feel like this game could really use a system where you can earn things that will make you powerful for your next playthrough. You know, like, reach level 3 to get a permanent +1 Strength, or gain 20 levels across all playthroughs to gain 10% more EXP. That kind of thing, so you feel like even when you lose you've made some progress. Obviously it wouldn't work in just an update of this game, but something worth thinking about if you ever make another.
This should actually be "Sine Car". "Sin" is just the mathematical shorthand for sine, the same way cosine becomes "cos", tangent becomes "tan", and so on.
What was that song in the Microvania stage? I'm sure I heard it in one of the games, but there are so many games and songs in that series that I'd neverbe able to find it if I looked for it.
You know, you spelled "Noctopuses" right the first time, but then you called it "Noctopi" in the half-hour reward. At least, I assume that "noctopus" uses the same grammatical rules as "octopus". The point is, the plural of octopus is not octopi, it's octopuses.
I've found one potential solution for the "Game slows down while in another tab" issue. It turns out the issue isn't with tabs, but simply whether or not the game is visible on the screen. If you open up a second window, shrink it just enough so that you can see a bit of the game spilling over the edges, and do your work in that window, the game should continue running at full speed.
Alright, I just found out how to eat the ice cream. To find it, click just to the left of where Pingy's standing in the Credits screen. To eat it, you just have to mouse over it... about A THOUSAND TIMES. This really needs to be made quicker. Not only are people going to wear out their mouse getting it, but most people won't even notice that it's shrinking when they mouse over it. Not to mention that the "hit box" gets smaller as the ice cream does, meaning you need more precise movements to wear it down...
The game runs a lot more slowly when you're in another tab... I heard somewhere that this doesn't happen if the game has some sort of music playing, and you can fix it by adding in "silent" music if you really want to keep things silent. But I've never made a Flash game myself, so I can't verify it.
Buying upgrades to the house causes you to earn more money from leveling up, but the more you play the longer it takes to level up... There should be a more consistent way to earn money, so that you can actually see some dividends from that investment.
I closed out of the game while at the "choose your monster" screen, and came back later to find that I had a glitched save file with a level 99 "Undefined". The game wasn't playable, though.
I'm not sure if it's just my browser, but the Tab button doesn't work, it just does the thing where it tabs through options on my browser. It would be nice if there was a second hotkey for the items menu.
Do you really want your weapon stones?
