The atmosphere and adrenaline-pumping energy made me feel like I was playing one of the Mausland classics. One with really shitty controls. A fun little romp, and the game's so short that you don't have time to let the controls kill it for you. Not to say that the clunkinesss and bugginess are excusable. All of my deaths were from the beam failing to propel me. It's quite a large flaw, but this will be quite the effective break-time game once the bugs are fixed.

gah I can't play these games. Being an actual guitarist, it bugs me to no end that that games like this have me going down when I really would go up, and things like that. It was work if it was a piano game, since the note arrangement on the piano is much simpler than on a guitar

Well, that was a total waste. This game wasabsolutely awful. The level designs are boring and unimaginative, same with the weapons. Everything about this game is just regurgitated crap that I've seen recycled countless times. The soundtrack is awfully bland, the sound effects are dull...just a very bland game overall. 2/5

Was a breeze until Phase 5. Don't go the upgrade route, stick with "characters" like you already have. It keeps the replay-value up. Also, I would like to see more innovation. There isn't much to make this game stand out within the genre. This is a genre in which it is rather tough to innovate, as the requirements for a game to fit the genre are more strict than you would think. Maybe you could place gates around the field the suck up enemy bullets, like the focus does, but it only affects a limited area, but doesn't cost a full stock to use, like maybe a third or a quarter, or half. Duration would be limited, of course, but it could allow for a greater variety of playing styles, add another layer of strategic depth, and still not make the game too easy if incorporated properly. Again, it's just a random suggestion.

Disappointingly bland and generic. What makes your game different from the others of its genre? This is an important question that every good developer must ask themselves.

Way too easy, to the point that it's not even a challenge at all. Completely generic, there's absolutely nothing to keep me interested, the enemies are way too slow and utterly defenseless, the weapons are the same you can find in every other shooting game out there, the entire game is just painfully bland. 2/5

Reading the comments while it was loading, I was excited. I expected something that would really test my skills as a gamer. What I got was a major disappointment. It saddens me that people are complaining that this is "impossible". All it requires is a tiny bit of thinking, just some rather simple trajectory equations. My first death wasn't until level 12. Come on, people. Shape up.

I feel like this game has what the first game was missing, but lacks some of what made the original so good. There is still insane potential is this series, and I would love to see more from it. I will certainly pass this game along to some friends who are fellow fans of minimalist games, though it certainly is not something that everyone will appreciate. However, I would hate to see you gain more fans by cheapening the experience. Keep it artsy, but use less obstacle-free screens, and make it a little more interesting than jumping over random meteorites.

While Don't Look Back is truy an awe-inspired game, and one of my all-time favorites out of the indie scene, the charater is hardly original in design. When the visuals are so minimalistic, it really is hard to come up with character sprites that look unique, since the visual style does not allow for any detail whatsoever. So no, the character is not "stolen", it is just that both games use the same graphic design technique, one that has been around since games were first invented.

Maturity is being able to accept and embrace your inner child. Acting a certain way just to get cred is the real immature thing. By the way, not really a game.

Dull, boring, and relies far too heavily on a cheap and unoriginal gimmick. I ask you: what sets this apart from the masses of other arcade shooters out there? This is just a carbon copy game with no creativity behind it. Insultingly easy. I pushed myself through the first two worlds, but then I'd just had enough...

Very easy and very repetitive. Even towards the end of the fight, all you have to do is move right after you block and you will not take any damage. Add maybe a flame-blast attack that is unblockable and you have to move up to the dragon to avoid the attack, and also add something that can only do if you're close to her, like a tail lash or claw rake, or something else along those lines. The key is to keep the player guessing what's coming next but still have a solid structure to the boss's behavior in a given situation. Keep trying, you'll get it.

I'm glad to see some nice innovation here. The control sceme takes time to get used to, but it allows for much better mid-air control than the arrow keys do. It's a very ballsy move for you to make, and I think I payed off brilliantly. The level design is excellent, the music is good, the ability to pan so completely gives you the ability to map-out your strategy well (though some people seem to be blind to this feature). If you're having trouble with accidentally switching to pan-mode, just regularly keep your mouse a short distance from the character, be it in any direction. A mouse-only platformer is a very bold idea, and you pulled it off well. Keep up the good work.
