Okay I gave it another shot and noticed something that really helped me out. When an ingredient says that it "drains" another then it means it gets stronger from draining the power - not just that the other element gets weaker.
Also, fire ingredients are waaaaayyy too rare. The luck factor can be annoying, but this tip should help some people.
This game is ruined by the fact that you lose the ingredients used to make your charm. I've won 4-5 battles straight without coming across a mage that gives ingredients as a reward. A game with great potential - destroyed by poor balance/game-testing.
Okay, I was trying out war mode and enjoying it but around years 6 or so all the techs gained here undefined - so I got nothing. I saw a similar bug in the regular mode where several areas in the computer research area were also undefined.
If the morale bonus works like it doe sin MOO then I don't think it is working. At least, in the building screen it doesn't show any of the variables on the left hand side of the screen.
The pollution penalty is way too big dude. For every worker I add I get 1 production because 2/3s of it is taken out with pollution penalties.
Also, the autosave is still really annoying. There should be a toggle for it.
A restart battle button would be really nice after you pause the battle. I had to restart since it got way too hard, even on easy, and it is faster for me to refresh the screen than to die so I can retry a battle to get the bonuses.
Also, I don't like the way accuracy is calculated - if you have multiple of one type of weapon and one misses, even though you clicked fire once, and hit with the other, then it counts against your accuracy.
Oh I just checked your profile and saw that you made Miner Wars 2. That game was a bit underrated I though. I'll try and give you some better feedback after I've played the game more (on year 2038 now).
It is a fun game but the battles take way too long. In MOO 1 or 2 I could finish turns even with massive empires quicker than it takes to beat these battles. I do like it though - maybe I just need some better weapons, but it takes so long to research things since the battles take so long.
Fun game, never got to use my ice moat though since nothing got close enough. There wasn't enough wood either to build some of the other defense buildings - I almost had the glass, but I needed about 200 more wood to build everything.
To fix the screen alignment problem press "control and 0" (not on the num pad), which will reset your screen to its default size. Refresh the screen. After you start the game and get to the character selection screen you can press "control and +" to zoom in as far as you like.
Game crashed on me. It looked like I went under the floor and then my health rapidly went to 0. I'd gotten quite far and lost everything. No title, no nothing. That's what you get for games that don't put in autosave features.
That wasn't the only bug. I tried to move my abilities around and when I went to the next floor it screwed them all up which made the hotkeys really inconvenient.
Could be good, but the bug, esp. the crash bug, kills this game. 2/5.
