Another problem with this game is that it doesn't encourage you to be creative with your towers. Slow down enemies for bomb turrets? Surround station with warp upgraded slow turrets? No, the way to win is basically to use all laser turrets and one defense turret. Otherwise there will always be a stage that can get through your clever defense setup.
It isn't fun to use one tower the entire game. And, of course, once did that I had enough credits for all the upgrades which i probably won't bother trying out now. More upgrades, cheaper upgrades, a "heads up" on what is coming next so you don't have to memorize what the next waves are going to be....These are a few of my favorite things...
The old one seems better. I can't zoom in on this one with my browser which is rather annoying, plus the random choice of what to build is rather crappy - I suspect done as an easy way to "balance" the game.
This game is great and I really like that you are doing updates (many developers don't take feedback). I do have a suggestion though - make achievements give you some money for new games.
Great potential but buggy and frustrating controls. You need to fix the gun point bug, let you cancel attack points so you can move them (like with the escape key), and keep the path without having to redo it every time just so you can nudge the attack points a bit. This'll be a great game if you can fix these things.
Kinda sucks how when you beat the game you can't keep on going and lose all your stuff. I wanted to max out everything :(.
And yes, the bazooka seems better than the laser.
It is pretty hard to see the last bosses attacks - you need to up the contrast on them or seriously decrease the damage that they do. I got to the "shield sequence" part and said screw it after I died - way too annoying to get there just to have to start over.
If you do make a shop/upgrades then you may want to re-release it as a sequel instead of just updating it. Nobody will see it if you just do an update. Just make sure the upgrade system is extensive and gives a lot of player choice (strength, defense, speed, special abilities, etc). There is a lot of potential here.
The game has potential and a good framework, but it isn't quite where it could be yet. You need to have a bigger variety of enemies with different tactics/attacks and nearly all the guns feel the same - the weapons need more variety and specialization as well (e.g. flamethrower, chainsaw, etc).
You have a nice upgrade system in place, but you should explain exactly how the upgrades help and how much. I'd also prefer more active upgrades like double jumping, sprinting, etc. PM me if you decide to make a sequel and I can go into more detail.
A good way to get the prohibition achievement (destroy 100 barrels) is on the broken circuit level (in the section before the last). Use the secret ammo at the front so you don't kill the guy and it will pull the barrels out into the open, then you can easily hit them with a firebomb.
If you don't have the secret ammo then parachute bombs work well too.
Potential, but several major problems:
1) Need to have an option not to hold down the mouse button to move - that should be the default actually.
2) Need to be able to replay levels for more money and/or get rid of the "repair" crap - you shouldn't have to pay to repair when resources are limited.
3) The shield is pretty bad - it takes far too long to become active.
4) Should be able to use multiple specials - this isn't a big deal since they can share the same energy reserve.
5) More upgrades like enhancing the generic energy pool and its recharge rate for specials. You also need way more speed/accel upgrades
Seriously, if you make a game where you have to have perfect aiming then let people redo the level without having to refresh the damn game. Let them pause the game to return to the menu or to restart the level so people can restart quickly if they miss the first shot or screw up the level.
Damn do you people know nothing about basic game design?
Sorry, but I hate games that don't allow you to replay levels to improve or get more exp. This game has a lot of potential, but some developers don't understand that frustration != fun.
