Pro-Tip for level 9: Move the Liberation ship right next to the Phantom gate at the start and build a nullifier.
By the time that is done you should be healed, move the ship next to the gates and nullify them - you can get them all from two positions.
After that just move the ship back to the start and take your time.
I suspect the premium content is actually worth it in this case. The second campaign was really fun and I think the 3rd campaign is probably really great too.
The extra weapons and gadgets in the other campaign(s?) are really great. The "relics" like farting when you jump, actually makes a cloud of poison gas that causes damage - very useful for taking out bombs without switching weapons or wasting ammo.
My complaints are that the perks aren't as cool as in Final Death Wish. Perhaps the developer was annoyed fixing the bugs they caused, but they were really cool - meteors falling from the sky, homing drills coming out of your butt, etc. I also greatly missed the dash, stun-dash, and neo abilities to make slow motion more useful.
Too hard. Not enough power ups, not enough lives, difficulty ramps up too fast, Mario is too fast, very little original stuff is added, original stuff is subtracted...why go through all that effort to make a rage quit game?
Bugged out when I got to level 19. Nothing spawned and I could interact with nothing. The levels kept advancing though.
You need to explain the controls better and use z/x for firing by holding the button down.
Upgrades would make this game golden - and of course UFOs.
A game this difficult should let you choose your upgrades. Having to replay levels to get your "allies" back is stupid and annoying - you've basically made it so people have to grind levels they don't like over and over.
Very bad design choice.
Okay, you can just press the same weapon number to reset your heat - don't need to switch between weapons to do it. This game would be too hard without doing this. The "cover" ship with the highest armor seems to be the best bang for the buck. And once you get a new ship you can heal between missions by selecting your old ship then the one you want to use. The swift learner perk works but it doesn't show when enemies are killed - it shows in your total. Not sure about the other perks.
Best bet is to get swift learn, cover ship, and then save for the BFG. Once you get that you are golden. It runs out of heat fast (have to press 6 a bit faster) but it kills things extremely easily - even bosses.
1. Needs autofire toggle.
2. Accuracy rating shouldn't be hurt by getting spreadshot ability
3. fire/ice bullets don't seem to work or I don't know how to use them.
4. Hot keys are spread across the keyboard instead of being in a nice row. Try z,x,c and/or 1,2,3 instead.
5. Needs more upgrades and variety of enemies (behavior - not life, speed, damage).
The combo meter going down constantly made me feel like I couldn't learn the combos - I was always trying to rush to the next fight to keep my meter up. If you are going to have a system like that you should tell us at various points in the game what the key combos are.
I think I did one accidentally in the boss battle but that was it.
Way too much luck involved. I had great armor, a great weapon, full health and an elixir, but the dragon totally owned me.
What the hell is the point in playing over and over if you don't get any permanent bonuses?
Yeah you do level so fast now that you can't get souls enemies as you go on. I haven't even been grinding, just doing the normal levels, and now I can't get souls to upgrade my sword :(. The single soul per enemy, plus this limitation, makes it impossible to fully upgrade your sword.
As good as :)
