For those having trouble moving from lvl3 to fighting the false gods, it's a big leap, and you want two different decks generally for those purposes. I found I needed to grind level 3 for about a day off and on with a fast lvl3 deck to get enough money and cards to sell to upgrade a few key cards in my god killing deck to have modest success. Defeating gods, even at 20% success is a far faster way to get upgraded cards than grinding for money. Grinding lvl3 with a fast deck may still be the best way to get non-upgraded rares (I got 1 rare weapon in my day of grinding.)
Check the Elements forums for fast decks and god killing decks.
This game has a lot of depth, and requires a significant investment in time to upgrade, etc. It dragged me off of kongregate for the last 3 days or so. I haven't gotten into PVP. It's a shame the screen size is an issue on kongregate. It has it's own forums and wiki which are pretty helpful. The game has a few annoying bugs which are discussed on the forum.
3/5 - this game seems to teach little else than the power of ranged weapons. Even on hard you can camp your riffelmen ourside his city and his tower never upgrades to hit them.
For those saying the game is too hard, in the early game you need to buy every elevator when you get a chance, and use machine guns when you can early. The gun on your character is key to the early game, so you need to move from floor to floor. Also don't upgrade everything evenly some stronger elevators can be focused on the floors that are getting further toward the shaft. Machine Gun, Rocket, Laser makes a good combo for the later game.
It's pointless to review this game if you don't play through it. I think the dungeon, and prepping for entering it are two key aspects to making the game challenging. Playing through is pretty easy really.
Is there a way to figure out what difficulty you started with? I see now that the thunderstorm and Fuel of war modes are locked, and If I'm not playing elite, which I'm probably not, I'll need to start over to unlock them.
I have to admit almost giving up on this game at first. But there is a lot of depth. It does get pretty easy with most of the upgrades, (Legendary, and Black market), and for most annoyances there's an upgrade. ie. don't like the X's there's an upgrade, too long making money? There are upgrades to help, and a hard to kill somewhat rare object to destroy for a big money boost.
Also, I think there's a bug in the food logic. If you boost food high enough it gives a bonus for happy, but lowering it again does not appear to remove the bonus.
Needs more feedback or impact from relative changes in food/taxes. 100% taxes are OK as long as you don't go negative on happy. That seems wrong. Food seems and taxes seem to not have the obvious effects on population growth.
zamininc, hit 'ctrl' to switch missile types, only issue is it will auto switch to another type when you get that type as a bonus, I didn't check options to see if that's changeable.
I played through it, but after the first couple rounds I only used 3 level 5 units in mass quantities. The cheapest would not get far, but for some reason boosted my money, until eventually I could use the most powerful units. So that's a flaw. Path seemed to make little difference, that might be a flaw. The biggest flaw is that there's no explanation of the towers and what they do. Good level design and some improved UI could make this a classic. Maybe some achievements and upgrades for the 'computer' as well if they added to the understanding and need for tactics. 4/5 for the potential.
