Interesting game idea. One bug: I don't know what causes it, but restarting the game made the music start another time over the music that was already playing. I think muting and then unmuting caused the same problem.
Other issues: Can you shrink the screen? It's annoying to only be able to play the game on a big screen, and the game doesn't give a good reason why it couldn't be smaller, or at least narrower (shrink the balls too so it doesn't become harder, maybe keep numbers same size if you fear it becomes hard to read). Other than that, the way of moving the ball is very counterintuitive, so you'd probably do good to add a short line of instructions telling you how to move the ball, possibly add other controls too. Oh yeah, grammar check: It's "Eat numbers smaller than yourself".
Can you make it so that the ball form either only works when the down button is held, or else is continuous until you press up? It seems like sometimes I was stuck in a ball until pressing up, whereas other times it would only hold a second. It probably has to do with velocity now, but I'm afraid the added difficulty doesn't make the game better.
Other than that: great game! It's simple but sweet, and I see you've got the details worked out nicely by adding the menu button & R to restart. I'd only suggest adding a mute button (for music, maybe for all sound), that's always often requested.
What's the usual way of submitting feedback concerning spelling? Just found one mistake, frusterating instead of frustrating, I think it was on the first statue level.
I think it is typically through the 'game bug' link under the info tab - but this works as well. Thanks for reporting this and nice catch! I've fixed the misspelling and it will show up the next time I push an update. Cheers!
That awkward moment when an English text contains your native language without you expecting it... or when Mr. Tulip Head scolds you for trying to rush his talking. Really nice touches, both! And overall, even better: really relaxing game with interesting puzzle mechanics. I'd ask to be able to replay previous levels (especially with them auto-solving), but for now I'll just replay the entire game. Nice to have an excuse to, anyway! 5/5, good luck!
@fairywaif, that's only the second badge. I got the first in 2016. Looks like they took the opportunity to clean things up though, title says "Demo" now too.
I have to disagree with solar. I managed to beat all levels with the help of a friend, but... was hardly able to get the next badge. I don't think the 3 second timer is still right for extreme because of all the long words. Had to skip a lot to win the badge because I recognised them as a many letter word.
Ok, I ruined my endless game to turn the music back on. Please either add the option to go back to an endless game later on, change music options midgame, or both. Besides that, absolutely amazed this is a Ludum dare game! Amazing quality, great idea and execution!
Hmm. I've struck a puzzle that can't be solved (would have multiple solutions but I can't test whether the game would accept both). That's a real pity.
Very cool game! I saw some typos and I think another error, but I don't remember where, so I'm gonna play it later so I can point to what levels need some fixing.
A mix between breakout and eh... a monster-jumper? Very interesting! I think the graphics are a very good choice. Biggest criticism I can think of is that it takes a bit long between games. It's a nice animation, but you often just want to get on with replaying. Maybe a skip animation button?
It's a really nice little game with the concept and the art. However, I think it's needlessly hard as of now because of the lack of checkpoints and hard timing with William falling so slowly. Though I agree that added difficulty can work for a game and maybe even make it better, it doesn't fit the calm atmosphere, and that just makes it frustrating. Not that it's really bad though.
Ok, really good game! Original concept, fun to play, graphics look good. Only thing holding it back from 5/5 is how short it is (not meant as a complaint, but of course feel free to use that as feedback)
This game is really satisfying. Got most levels and stars the previous time I played it, just got all. Some of the levels that had me stuck the previous time actually end up being part of my favourites now.
Also, almost forgot: Please add a "menu" button, it's annoying to refresh just to start a new game. Ok, so you could probably play through to the bad ending and all, but at first I thought I was stuck.
I was about to send a bug report, but just found a way to progress the game (probably leading to the bad ending, as I have a solo clue left). Is it correct that you're not supposed to be able to leave the room at the Ghunn-less room? And this one I'm less confident about: I tried confirming being lied to, but it didn't do anything and the other deductions didn't let themselves get altered. Bug or not?
