Can you make it so having the game selected stops the arrow keys from scrolling? Clicking the screen to select only disabled arrow keys entirely for me, for some reason.
Great game. Only feedback I have is a request to add to the Kong instructions that you can find the in-game instructions under settings (just like you already said about Difficulty levels).
You didn't explain the rules behind the snakes' turning... Aren't they allowed to make 2 turns the same way right after eachother, or are the snakes not allowed to have 2 pieces of body nest to eachother if they aren't directly connected?
Strictly speaking, the rule is they can't have two pieces of body next to each other. But in practice, it's the same thing as not doubling back.
They can only touch themselves if they double back, OR if they completely surround another snake. Since they are never shorter than 2 or longer than 9 in the current set of puzzles, they can never surround another snake!
But the main reason the rule is there is that if they could double back, they could fit in different ways into a rectangle, and puzzles with one solution would be hard to make. As the rules stand, they have to wrap around each other, ans the interaction limits the number of solutions and makes for more interesting puzzles.
The screen is too big, I don't feel like scrolling up and down all game. Also, the Hint disappeared too quickly for me to read the first time, and the second time, the black screen didn't disappear and I didn't know how to make it go away so I had to press next before I wanted to.
Ok, so without the map it's just guessing. With the map it's still guessing, however you know a few switches already. The only part where you actually use logic is when you figure out which one of O & X is on and which one is off. The rest is guessing, which is not fun.
Also... Can you change the timing on the rune change? Given how precise you have to time it it takes way too long between changes to get the hang of it, and it doesn't sync up with anything logical (the music, a timer... apparently it's 10 seconds but I couldn't accurately count up to that because the jumping and the music have a different rhythm that throw me off)
Finally, a game where my knowledge of morse code pays off! The -. in .-. .. ... . -. was cut off, btw. Also the .-.. in . ...- .. .-.. just says .-. now. The . in .-.. . ..-. - is also cut off a bit but that one is still legible.
Oh man, this game is amazing, solid 5/5. Howeeeeveeeeer after reading some comments I noticed that the developer simply disregarded calls for a seizure warning. This is putting people in danger and so I'll have to give it 2/5 (yeah I couldn't even do 1 because I like it too much). I'd ask for fixing but sadly, it's a 2015 game, probably not gonna happen.
Hey, sorry for the late response, I haven't been checking this page very much as you can probably tell.
I ended up making a mobile version of this game which was better in general, so I ported the mobile version to flash as well. Of course I took the seizure comments to heart and removed the flashing lights in the newer version... however I don't have the code for this version so it is difficult for me to remove the flashing lights from this one.
Here is the version without lights in case you want to try it out:

Dammit Gaz. You can't make those kinds of achievements and then not give players an option to restart without playing the entire game to finish. I'm at level 2 and forced to refresh because I killed the dog before getting the bottles. Heck, it was annoying enough that there was an achievement "don't fail any level" when the real challenge is only the last level and the first few are just a chore to get to that one if you're going for that achievement.
Oh man, I remember checking for this game on Kongregate and not finding it. I had no idea it was this long ago. I also remember beating it, so don't think it's impossible! It just needs dedication.
This game is easily worth 4/5, maybe even 5/5... But the developer should really answer the frequently asked questions (what happens to previous level-upgrades). Until that happens it's a 3/5 from me. Personal request: Keep the ending-story in the screen until manually clicked away, I missed half of it.
1 word at a time? Man, you gotta at least have a difficulty option that changes that. I'm not even sure the timer matters a lot if there's just one word to guess anyway.
I was gonna give it 3/5 for a fun idea but not necessarily the best implementation. Then, one of the very first levels, multiple possible solutions. Even worse, it told me I used "Ingenious logic" for my second try. No. I found the fastest solution through trial & error. There was no way to "logical reason" to the right answer. If a game tries to frame trial & error as using/superior to using logical reasoning, it isn't worth more than 1/5. This is negative education.
I just uploaded a version that allows you to shift+left-click instead of right clicking, hope this helps.
