I don't know why I'm bothering -- negative comments always get voted into oblivion -- but the Reincarnation games are really going downhill. This one's marginally better than the fry cook one, but the majority of this one is timing. It's an adventure game, not a platformer! In addition, it's not like something goes wrong if you do it at the wrong time (the girl sees the coffee cup float away and grabs it, for instance); it just tells you "you can't do that". There's nothing indicating *why*. It just feels half-finished.
All that said, the voice acting is awesome as always. I wish there was a way to mute the music but not the rest of the audio.
Clever idea, but since you have to obscure large portions of the screen while placing a rabbit, it gets artificially hard. Needs an option to go in the other direction.
I must have activated the "Order Placed" sign six times in a minute. Each time, he took a dump in the frialator. He might want to see a gastroenterologist about that.
I'm literally grinding points by clicking "start level" over and over again. I don't have to move my ship, and I still kill every enemy and take no damage. Yet I can't beat the very next level.
Buggy. You can't click "read new messages" when it's blinked off, have to click before you can zoom in, bullet count is inaccurate, zooming in zooms into a place other than where you were pointing, moving the mouse after zooming causes the scope to jump across the screen, etc. Just very amateur all around.
Another problem is the artwork. I'm totally down with the retro pixelated thing, but the non-pixelated artwork (as found in the battles and in the conversation dialogs) is, well, bad. It also doesn't fit with the rest of the game. This isn't a huge problem, but it doesn't help. Also, the UI in the menu could use some work. Some things are hard to find, or awkward to figure out how to do. (I still have no idea how to trade items between characters.) I also spent several battles with one of my characters blind because the only indication of that is a small black icon on the status screen. There's more, probably, but I'm starting to pick nits. Lose the random encounters and/or completely revamp the fighting, though, and I think you've probably got a really good game. As it is, I'm bored silly with having to stop every five steps and play a game of Concentration.
There's clearly a lot of backlash against people who didn't like this game. I didn't like this game, and I usually say so rather pithily, but I'll be more descriptive this time. The author clearly spent a lot of time on developing the game and putting real thought into it. I like the general premise of the game, and the storytelling is pretty good. That doesn't inherently mean that it's fun, though. The single biggest problem with this game is random encounters. They add nothing to the game, other than a way to grind XP, are tedious at best, and totally kill any momentum to the story. There's no real strategy beyond noticing the elemental basis of the enemy and gearing your attack towards it. I was thrilled, halfway through my badge grind, to discover that the "Flee" option worked well. (continued)
Played through the game once with no problems. Playing it again for the badges. (It's great how it didn't save my completed game. :/) Now it's all glitchy. My Mage and Cleric have forgotten how to cast spells, and my Fighter can only move one square at a time.
