ok... so this game needs expanded upon... really cool as is, but would be f-ing awesome if it had 1) Save, 2) More levels/survival/crazy mode/other play modes 3) even more upgrades 4) the ability to select levels and/or start over with your new upgrads to try to get perfect scores 5) Medals/awards/other goal system to give you something to shoot for.
it's not a game... just a toy... for some reason I enjoyed it enough to play with it for a few minutes... which is more than I can say for a lot of new Kong entries
I really liked the first one... and now I REALLY REALLY like this version... way to go. You were able to keep everything that made the first one fun and still add things to it that really enhance the game play.
I really like this game... it feels like towerd defense got together with castle defense and gave birth... to this... I agree about some glitchy-ness though... I had some problems myself... lost all of my level 2 progress because I clicked the "menu" link accidentally while at the "purchase" screen and I couldn't get back or move forward... just stuck... 3/5 ... really needs a 3.5 out of 5... would be 5/5 if it had more enemies, sandbox mode, more upgrades, and had less obvious bugs
This is a great demo for what looks like would be a pretty fun game... once... nothing that much more innovative or fun than many other full version games that we play on here for free day after day... so there's no way I'm every going to experience more than the demo, but what I did get was great... 5/5
finally got all the badges... but i've noticed that other people post that they were able to destroy "towns" ... i've not been able to do that at all... any tips on how a "town" gets destroyed? i've completed a number of stages in which nobody was left alive, but i've still not received a point for a destroyed town
@TheUltimaton ... don't sweat it... @aquspal is just being stubborn... there's nothing constructive, useful, or meaningful about simply calling a game 'Horrible"... so it's an opinion that deserves to simply be ignored
1.that was totally homer
2.the game is fun but that dies too early. I was able to get all the upgrades and still can't reach the top because I either don't get lucky enough to hit tons of fuel and speed upgrades or I end up banging into one of the insane number of obstacles in the atmosphere.
3.because there is so much junk to hit, you should add a shields upgrade that allows you to not lose as much speed with you hit stuff and also make it to where winning with a super tricked out rocket is easier... you already had ther person playing the game for 15 minutes to get all that stuff... it just becomes repetitive.
1. signing is stupid... the text field is no where near long enough to hold a significant fraction of active Kong players.
2. This game is too short... like way too short. I like your idea of a level editor, but I think you should do both 50 new levels and an editor...
3. introduce more significant obstacles... good call on the ice platform, that was neat... now give us something else and make it actually kind of hard around level 40 or so ;)
sometimes I think when an author puts controls like this in, that he/she has never played other games before... there are a hundred examples of this exact game type out there... and it's fine to want to remake one, but unless you actually have a better control system, you shouldn't change it just because
nothing really advanced going on here... the controls are terrible... if you made left and right a side-step rather than a turn then the game would be 100% better instantly
some people may give you crap because of the tremendous quality that some other designers put out. But for a first game I think you did really well. Your game may not currently include multiple levels and interesting graphics but at least it's playable, and there's not glaring bugs like there are in a lot more "advanced" games submitted to Kong. @Petesahooligan, remaking classics is a great way to start into game design because you have something to measure against. Also, submitting to Kong is a great way to get feedback from a diverse audience with ideas on how to improve and where the budding designer can go from here.
10dog4321 has it right... it's just an evony remake... there are some basic game changes, but at the core it's just a reskinning of the game. and I agree with him... evony sucks
It's really funny... I'm thinking Wow, a really new snake concept... and then, wow... this would've been about 100 times better if it was an actual cube...
Then I read the first comment, and was like, wow, I guess everyone thought the same thing.
How did you not think of that from the beginning? 3/5 for being oblivious... and even if you did think of a cube but decided on the half-concept then you could have at least provided the option for people to choose their 3-D shape.
