The fact that this game *congratulates* me upon dying makes this quite possibly one of the more enjoyable roguelike games I've played. No bitter feelings upon dying, nothing negative.
I think a lot of people were extremely confused why they were "frozen" at the tutorial screen. It took me four tries of this game before I realized that it wasn't "bugged", but that it actually wants you to execute the command. This is very confusing, in my humble opinion, especially since the previous game had a click-thru tutorial. However, it is a cute remake of the game, and looking forward to the second one!
This game would be much better if it was played at a faster pace. I'm already going into it thinking "oh, great, have to grind my way to level 13 for the badge of the day". But the gameplay is so slow that you never stop thinking "this is such a constant grind, the only positive, unique, and entertaining aspect of this game is the art style, which isn't enough to make even a decent game, much less a fun game." I give points for effort, but it's severely lacking, unfortunately.
Thus, the "Restaurant at the End of the Earth" was created, where you could continually watch the earth eaten by the worst folly of humanity. This appalled the "Keep Time Clean" activists, pleased the "Anti-Humanity activists", and created a whole new field of technology, anti-goo cloaking technology.
The male human looks dashing, and fully clothed. Meanwhile, the female human is a timecop in skimpy clothing. Gee, it's like they're targeting a specific cisgender group, or something. =_=
Actually, the thing I like about this game is that it *isn't* addicting on easy mode. A nice little game that I can sit down, play, and beat in 15 mins or less on easy mode, and is fairly enjoyable. Top marks.
Anyone know about SodaPlay? This game is like SodaPlay meets Spore, it's actually a really cool combination. Each type of fish seems to have it's own characteristics, too, based on how it's built. Really in-depth quality. Top marks.
I'd really like to reuse the same cards across multiple decks. It's extremely helpful, and speeds up the game a lot. Instead of trying to remember each build every time you have to take it down to make a slightly different build, we could just have 6 different builds of our favorite cards, all tweaked in certain ways.
Liked it a lot right up until the last two lands and the king. "Casual" game? There was a pretty big grind at the end for a casual game. Even so, fun, so thanks for the game!
I don't think I really understand the usefulness of the champions. They are such a drain on your stats early game that it almost seems a little iffy to have us buy them so early-game.
The art and music drew my attention, the story kept my attention, and the shortness of the game and the relative sense of the game kept a casual player like me interested after getting stuck the first time.
Immediately notice the amazing music. Then the quick hotkeys for faster battles. And then the really fun animation style and cool gui backgrounds. *drools*
Good to hear, since that's exactly what I wanted to achieve with this game. :D
