Awesome game. Creme de la creme of casual action games.
A couple small flaws: 1) Challenges quickly become busy work. The REAL challenge are making distance in 'survival,' but these are only worth 1 star. Many of the 3 star missions can be beaten very quickly just beating Boss 1 over and over again. There should be a 10k survival mission near the end.
2) The survival doesn't really ramp up; it's hard at first, but once you are fully upgraded, it's just a cakewalk. I got to 11,111 meters before I got bored and gave up. With infinite jump, I just stayed above the screen raining teslas and rockets all over, and didn't have to worry about much.
3) In survival, if you don't do this, the screen can quickly become so full it's hard to see what's going on. However, on my 1.6ghz core2duo linux box, performance was fine. Slowed down a bit when things got really crowded, but never really an issue.
Superb game all in all.b
I've been stuck for 30 minutes in the dark cave with no way of going forward. This game is unfinished and not properly play tested. Should have been good, 2/5.
BOGUS! I worked waaayyy to hard to get all the badges and all the stars to get...no ending at all, not even a special badge to say I've gotten all the badges, literally nothing at all, not even a credit screen, for getting all stars :(
PRO TIP: For Amazons, try building as many rocket towers as possible. They take care of them nicely. For instance, level 18 day, build one tower in the upper left and it will kill most of the amazons for you no problems.
Brilliant on 18: You must build and cast in a specific order. First take the bottom part, then the mana mine, then the spare spaces in upper corners (if day), then the right island, then the upper left area, then start taking the main island starting in the upper right and trying to grab the center. If you get the center, build a ballista. ONLY built ballistas with your green towers, because their superior range can often take out the amazons. Brilliant at night on 18 IS possible, but it's very tough. A great challenge.
You really should get the stars for the regular level when you get brilliant on the night version..I mean, they're exactly the same, except one is harder? I got brilliant on all the levels at night, it's annoying I have to go back and do it again during the day.
Levels are just too long. Later in the game, you have everything developed and you are just sitting there for like 10 minutes watching the screen while drooling on yourself. In later game, you are encouraged to get all brilliant achievements, which will basically be accomplished by spending untold hours staring and the screen occasionally clicking to upgrade a tower. And drooling on yourself. Needs 3-4x and to be able to set fast forward without holding down space. Good game, but loses its luster. 3/5.
All levels are playable and tested many times. Sorry.
