People complaining about the 3rd student in 5-1: the blue birds (Falconas) have extremely low HP and can be 1-hit by just about anything, so if you can get a team FAST (not strong) enough, it's an easy battle. I won with a Titoro (speed), Megalatron (tank), Tazorback (speed), Flamator (speed), and Domisteam (robot). Flamator got 1st attack, Totoro got 3rd, easy as that...
With everything maxed: Red archer does 371 dps + 268 dps to every enemy near target (including target). Green archer does 1050 dps + 220 dps for 4 seconds; that's assuming every arrow hits, though. Blue archer does 632 dps + 383 dps to up to 5 enemies on the screen (NOT including target). The blue archer does very little damage BUT loads 2.3x as fast as the red archer, so the key is spamming arrows.
Poorly balanced in that the green archer (poison) is much better than the other archers due to the fact that his skills complement each other perfectly. Blue and red's arrow skills don't strengthen their crowd-control skills, so you can't kill enemies fast enough. Green can one-shot most enemies with poison, and with the multishot you don't have to aim; the poison stacks, too, so you can quickly take down powerful enemies. With two maxed shots the green archer can do 945 damage + 440 damage/second for 4 seconds...everything dies fast.
Great game, but a serious difficulty spike in the last level. Also, there's an overdependance on magic damage/runes. Black holes are WAY more cost-effecient than towers, and the strongest enemies are immune to physical damage anyway, so the best strategy seems to be to place as many black holes as possible throughout each level...
SdKfz 251/16 is ridiculous. The automatic secondary weapons destroy everything. Instead of shooting, just drive through a pack of enemies and easily win every level. It'd make more sense if it weren't the first unlock...
Shocker trucks absolutely ruin the game. It's often impossible to kill them before they touch you, and if they touch you it's instakill. Also, the game runs slow even on low settings on my high-performance PC...this game should be flagged for rating inflation
1) About a third of the bombs (claster + last 5 bombs) will destroy the entire map.
2) You can spawn bombs in the ground, which makes them far more powerful.
Tips: early on, keep the starting gun and buy the Tax Refund, then the Wooden Classic stock, Ammo Box x150, and Tech Armor in that order. Next, get the Tech Stock and Marksman Eliminator gun. You can get to level 9 with this loadout, so ignore grips and aim for now. Save up for the Railgun, but you'll also need the Backpack Ammo Spiral. That'll let you beat the game, but you can get the Second Grip, Stim Booster, and Parasite Laser too. If you want a different loadout for Survival, go with the Rhino Minigun, Power! grip, Sniper Scope, and Chain Belt Feed.
The problem with this otherwise good game is the AI necessitates lots of micromanagement. Every ship spends lots of time hiding behind stronger ships, except the weak, fast ships that run out to get killed. When it has its reinforced shields on, the Darkstar is stronger than even the Vagari, yet it hides behind the Vagari instead of taking some of the damage. Cloak is pretty useless, and Blink is pretty useless because it's only on the fastest/weakest ship.
Final battle was anticlimactic...I dutifully maxed everything, then killed the final boss using only 2 ships. A 5000 HP boss is pointless when a single ship can do 2500-3000 damage in a single turn...
wat? O.o
