Americans, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and Romans all need buffs. On Easy/Normal, Greeks an easy time - with ore armor, a minotaur can beat 3-4 knights by itself, and over the course of 50 years Greeks can get 20K+ gold worth of units that practically never die for free.
Beat Hard with Russians (don't have to build farms) and with Mongols (don't have to build an early stables), and got close a few times with Greeks (if you can get to the first minotaur, you can cruise for awhile) but I can honestly say that currently it seems impossible to win without a little luck, particularly with what wave you draw on year 25.
Great game, but balance seems off. If you pick a race that doesn't start with some sort of unit bonus (e.g. Byzantines) you must invest heavily in soldiers early on or get wiped.
Also, the starting position of units seems random, but makes a huge difference. In an early battle on normal, I sent 2 swordsmen and 3 militia against 2 swordsmen and 1 militia and lost.
Ultimately, a grind fest that requires heavily upgrading the first few units and ignoring higher level ones. The amount of gold you get from replaying is pathetic; you get hundreds when you need thousands for even low level upgrades. 3/5.
@billybob very soon you will unlock the "maps" feature, which lets you play other, smaller maps with high metal drops. You'll also unlock another two housing types soon (10 and 40 trimps).
Great game. Some comments: 1) Blocking is useless. By world 15, I'm blocking 0.0000078% of enemies' damage despite heavily investing in trainers/gyms. 2) Traps quickly become useless. 3) Wood is SO much more useful than food. After Huts, ALL housing requires more wood than food. 4) The multiple assign for jobs breaks down when you have a lot of trimps already. I'd have to build several mansions just to get enough trimps for the lowest percentage.
If you're looking for the next "broken" race, at higher levels Angels can cast Call to Arms immediately after God's Hand, which together can give 11,000%+ to production for ~30 seconds, and can be at 100% mana again after 11-12 seconds....
@justinplayin-a 445% INCREASE, not multiplication, (so 545% total) and Villainous Certificate only boosts EVIL building production by 100%, not total. Your Hall of Legends will be ~80% of your production for some time.
Great game, but honestly you should probably just get rid of the skill Strong Currency. Even after the hard nerf, factoring in spells I'm gaining about 1200 gems a SECOND as goblin...
No offline progress...also, mathematically it seems like Night Time requires literally hundreds of Necropolises to be better than Blood Frenzy + Tax Collections...
