To everyone commenting on how it's impossible to cool Nefastium cells with vents/exchangers: yes. Ever wonder why Coolant Cells are SO much more expensive than other cooling buildings?
The bug with the reactor plating upgrade really limits this game because, after a certain point, you reach a point where you can't use higher-end rods without reducing your total income or using coolant cells, and if you are using coolant cells and forget to check your game every hour or so, everything will blow up...
And this game is now busted. Looks like heat exchangers will only send a full "load" of heat to a heat vent, so if they receive a smaller amount of heat from the reactor, they'll just send it back next tick. That's why reactor heat is fluctuating for no reason, because heat exchangers are taking heat from it and then sending it back next tick instead of to heat vents...
Needs offline or speed-up mode BADLY. With a few upgrades, plutonium rods last 30+ minutes and thorium last over an hour. Once you reach a certain point, you are unable to increase your income until your rods blow up, and that can take hours of waiting. The total cost of my rods on the board = 1/3rd of my income per second...too bad I'll be waiting for another ~40 minutes before I can place different ones...this is a good game, just needs fine tuning.
Also, a possible typo: Ultimate Neutron Reactor only reflects 200K particles. Based on the trend, it should reflect 2M. Right now, it only reflects 14% more particles than the Wonderous reactor but costs 10x as much.
Balancing needs work. Ultimate Heat Vent provides a total of 40K cooling for 5B. Ultimate Reactor Plate with Silver Heat Sinks provides 40K of cooling for...110M, and every 40K after that costs only 10M.
Great game but two complaints: 1) I beat the game on my 3th run. It's too short/easy, and 20 more floors won't make a major difference. 2) Before the spell descriptions were released, I maxed the combat tree and got most of the way through the potion tree. Now I'd love to get Transmute, but in order to get that it looks like I'll have to kill every enemy on floors 60-80 like 15 times...
A modified version of my strategy (meadow tech) still works. Gunna be hard to get super high scores now that Overpopulation is fixed, but you can easily get a huge population from meadows.
@pheonixtears my strategy will no longer work as well after patch. Selection gives 1/10th as much +food/person per point as it did before :/ will have to experiment a bit on deity...
My main issue is that later on you're basically using only one element, which is lightning. Lightning sucks early on, but when it's maxed with constant Static Debris, it's the best element because the Debris stuns enemies, increases damage significantly, and effectively improves the accuracy. It out-DPSs fireball as long as you hit 2+ targets, which is always in worlds 2-3. Also, Chaotic Trance is the only spell that can effectively clear the board due to fire resistant enemies. I haven't used any ice/ice spells (other than the heal once or twice) since world 1. Damage is just too low, because enemies freeze then take next to no damage.
frozen enemies take x2 damage with lightning. although it is good to see someone favoring one element. I designed the game for players to use all of them. thanks for playing.
Tips: 1) other than farmers, the only real key units are the ranged ones. 2) healers only heal passively (with upgrade) or with their skill. They attack enemies. 3) Without a few points in Musket, level 11 is practically impossible without restarting many times. 4) If you can't beat a level, try building only (maxed) farmers.
Fixed in 0.9.6, thanks for the report! This was being caused by the achievement DPS multiplier not being calculated when the game started.
