HELLO I AM HERE TO BITCH ABOUT THE FREE 2/7THS OF A GAME YOU GAVE ME BECAUSE I WAS BORN IN 1998 AND EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE SHOULD BE FREE FOR ME WHENEVER I WANT IT YOU WOULD HAVE MADE SO MUCH MORE MONEY ON THE KREDS I KEEP MEANING TO GET AROUND TO GIVING PEOPLE SOMEDAY
Lots of great concepts, like a Best Of of every good tower defense idea out there, and it's pretty well-executed. But it was just too easy for me -- I felt like there were SO many good options for powering your army up, none of them felt relevant at all. Looking forward to a tougher, tighter sequel. 4/5
This remains a masterpiece -- the first one entertained me until I lost my data (NOT Tukkun's fault), and coming back for the revisions was so worth it, better than ever. I can't believe this designer's so goddamned young. Can't we do SOMETHING to get this dude into a situation where he can accept our frickin Kreds already? :)
Everything about this game from its tacky aesthetics to its mindless worship of wealth to its own naked greed just makes me want to vomit. It's very professionally put together and sharp-looking, but hell, so it f***ing Velveeta. 1/5, and I'd give it less if I could.
You should have seen my eyes light up when I saw there was a SECOND WHOLE SCREEN full of levels, and more. :D :D :D Feels like there might be some tiny balance issues with the different trees, but I can't be bothered to care. Classic, 5/5
I'm not sure if I'm quite *loving* the game yet, but once I get the hang of it, I probably will. And it's such a creative and interesting idea, I'm going ahead and giving a 5/5. I really really like the concept.
Main things keeping this from being a 5/5, IMHO:
1) no obvious way to switch back to old guns (which takes away all the potentially interesting strategy from pairing weapons and stages)
2) way too little variety in enemy types (you REALLY need more ranged attackers)
3) the Doom Machine boss fight took so long I was not only getting bored, I started to wonder if there wasn't an invulnerability mechanic I was missing, especially since I didn't see any sort of boss life meter
Did I happen to mention this game could be the next Civ, if you keep at it? I would seriously pay $30 or more for a Rebuild Pro with that level of detail.
It's still not quite the 5/5 you were hoping for, IMHO -- it doesn't feel like there's enough challenge, and the campaign mode feels very... samey and repetitive. I'll try to write up more helpful details soon and send them your way. But the game is MUCH improved over when I first placed Spectromancer, it held my attention for much longer, and I'm starting to see some of its its strategic appeal. It's definitely coming along well -- I was not a fan of the game before, but now you've got me warming up to it.
Mayerlink: Does the term "Hobson's Choice" mean anything to you? The people who own the factories *determine* what choices laborers in 3rd world countries have. If workers are forced to choose between two bad options, like "starve" or "take a job that barely makes ends meet," while the corporation they're working for is driving home vast profits... the "best choice" given to these people is NOT ETHICAL. >_<
11tooth: It's just you. :) The boss was tough the first couple of times, but all you really have to do is get your magic, attack, and vitality up, get the best equipment, and just POUND on the bastard from up close. Use the fact that you can use your quick attack (A key) much faster than he can, and you can combo. If you get one good shot in at him, you should be able to get in several more before he clocks you. Use NO magic except heal.
If you accidentally click it just go to Saved Games and click Resume Game. It isn't gone.
