Really wasn't too hard... I just flamethrowed and then flame shot through all the later stages. Only died twice experimenting with different weapons (three if you include nuke :P).
I gave it a 4/5. I like seeing innovative ideas, but the game wasn't entirely fun to me. The later levels especially started getting better though when the puzzle aspect started to shine.
I can't tell whether or not people like Joker's comment because of the "helping others" part or for asking for BGM. If you want BGM and don't mind the longer loading time (would increase the file size another about 20%), please rate this comment up so I know for sure. If you prefer to keep the loading time shorter, not caring about BGM, vote down. Thank you for your input!
I'm not the biggest fan of zombie games, but I have to agree with everyone else: you really did a lot of polish into the game to make it top-notch. Good job & 5/5.
It really could benefit from visuals. It's hard to follow just text if you are a first-time user (at least to me). My programming knowledge let me follow it, but it wasn't really user-friendly. Also, you may want to work on your grammar (especially punctuation) for an all-text guide. It's a noteworthy try though.
ok thanks a lot for your opinion i will correct all the gramatical errors in the text (i probably made some errors in this sentence anyway!) I will be adding more visual elements to it very soon as i agree it is tricky to follow. thanks for playing
You should mention pressing 0 to toggle mute on/off. I only was able to find it because of my knowledge of flixel. Also, please let us increase the speed of the robot. 4/5 since the walking is very boring.
Congrats on encouraging spam. You just earned a 1/5 for me without even playing the game and now never will. Hope Kong takes some serious action against you for doing it.
Please rate up if you want to see more tutorials going more in-depth (and let me know what tutorials you want and if you want to be notified of new tutorials). Thanks, and I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
Normally I like these, but the limited balls was more annoying than challenging, and if it wasn't for Sarah's comment, might not have figured out the last stage. 3/5.
To quickly get the BOTD (game completed), first go inward and grab the gun (isn't far in), then go back OUT, following WiseCooldud's advice and get to the end. Then, shoot the boss from either the left or the right side in the area WITHOUT spikes. Hit him about 15 times and you'll have beaten the game. Hope this helps! :D
Dunno if it's just me, but I got all upgrades, all plots, crazy amounts of cash, and only 250 population, even though I have tons of buildings to increase the growth... not going to bother for "Boom Town" achieve.
Wow @ comments. I found the end boss to be among the easiest. I used the zombie guy and only upgraded knights/elephants (as well as production, castle, the 3 towers). At the start, I stayed on the defense, but as soon as I had about 20 population, I went on the offense, managing to make it through before the first black hole. Then I just used Zombieland to keep them all reviving. Finished in under 2 minutes.
In case people don't see it in the instructions, here's the changes to 2.0:
Categories no longer exist, ignore that step.
You need to “add events” (option on the left side) to get the headings. For example, “always” is “when updating”.
Collision is now handled as the event “collision with actor of type”, and you use the type instead of “group for colliding shape”.
