Yuck. Even the bosses are too weak for me to collect their soul. I'm sorry to be so critical, but these sorts of things spoil the fun a lot and they're so easy to fix.
It REALLY spoils the fun when all the regular enemies stop giving you souls. I understand making it do that if you repeat the same enemy in those reusable battle locations, but it really should never happen on the red battles. Just makes it seem like a waste of time.
About halfway through the snowy island, it starts telling you that the enemies are too weak to give you their soul. They're the hardest enemies I can face right now, so how the heck can they be too weak? I assume this is a bug. Kind of annoying.
You really need to work on those army battles. All you need to do to win them is use two catapults on the castle every turn. 4 turns later, battle is over, regardless of how many soldiers are killed on each side.
Awesome game. Love that it is a real puzzle game with explosions added in for the fun. I agree with some of the other people who said the switches are kind of hard to see. It would be great if it was a little more clear which way they were pointing.
Great game. I found hard mode to be a really nice challenge. One suggestion is that this game could really use an introduction to tell you the basics. I was kind of confused when it just jumped right into the first fight. Anyway, nice game.
Help please: I have beaten trial 2 a bunch of times and can't get the iron fortress. I tried refreshing my browser and it didn't work. I tried restarting my computer and it didn't work. What am I doing wrong?
Fun concept. Here are a few comments on things I think need some work: 1) Please try to speed up some of the tedious parts of the game. I don't need to sit there and watch the game count down my 8 xp points that I just earned after a battle. 2) The In-Training items are overpowered and the In-Battle items are underpowered. 3) Training in general is too easy. You pretty much always get +3 in the relevant skill. 4) It would be more fun if each of the battle attacks had a special power (slow, poison, etc). As it is, the 2 power one is always more than twice as strong as the one power one and the 3 power one is always more than 1.5 times stronger than the 2 power one. 5) It just doesn't make any sense that winning a 3 battle tournament gives the same xp and a lot less gp than winning one practice battle with my friend. 6) The pace of the story is too slow. I was one-hit killing every enemy for a long time, but I still could only access weakling enemies and bronze tournaments.
I have to say, I loved the others in this series and am really disappointed with this one. I get that you were setting this up for mobile devices, but it really shows across the board. The graphics are worse, the gameplay is dumbed down and the campaigns just feel bland. Your other games just set a much higher standard than this one.
Tips for other players: 1) Set the game detail to low, it makes the combat go a lot faster. 2) You need a high artistry skill to craft the more powerful items. Best way to train it is to take one piece of a common ingredient and spam trying to craft with it. You waste that one ingredient, but it trains artistry the same as if you tried a real recipe. 3) The potion that lets you upgrade your weapons is super overpowered. Save your resources so you can make it. 4) You can train your barter skill just by spam buying and selling the cheapest item in the store. It costs about 6 or 7 thousand coins to get up to 1000 barter, but that will pay itself back when you sell more expensive loot.
I played through a couple times for achievements. Here are my recommendations for the next one: 1) The crafting system is better in this one, but there has to be a reliable way to get more of the common resources. Either let us buy them or make a repeatable dungeon with lots of resources in it. 2) There is nothing to spend money on. Even mid-game we have way too many coins. 3) It would be a lot more fun if you couldn't get the same unique item more than once. It sucks opening a red chest and getting the same pair of unique boots that you are already wearing. 4) Why can't we craft the potion that raises random skill levels?
If you want to craft the really powerful items, you need high artistry. By far the easiest way to train artistry is to take one of the common ingredients and try crafting something with just one of them in one random slot. You'll fail and waste that one item, but it trains artistry and scavenging just the same as if you tried a real recipe.
It would be so much more fun if we could use our hero in the tactical battles. What is up with that? We spend all this effort making him super strong and then we have to rely on ex-convict losers to go fight the orcs.
Once you have about 4000 gp, you can buy a whole bunch of the cheapest item in the shop and then resell them over and over a whole bunch of times until you have 1000 trading skill.
