Am I the only one who thinks the first boss and the purple enemies are rather cheap? Say youŕe fighting the first boss, and some spikes come up... you have to either take spike damage, or boss damage. As for the purple enemies, until you upgrade a lot more, and only if nothing is in their way, they'll almost always get a shot in on you.
Yet another example of how video games are art. Another great pixel game delving into exploration and dreams, just wonderful. Wonderful music, wonderful backgrounds, with an intriguing and somewhat touching story that promises of a sequel. I look forward to seeing more of this alongside the 'deep sleep' series. Keep up the good work mate.
There's not much I can add that's already been said. Since you have enemies, for the feel you appear to be giving I'd aim towards something like 'Don't Run With a Laser Sword'. Monotonous background and coins, etc etc. Also, either make it easier to gain coins or make the upgrades cost far less. This isn't a money grubber like Temple Run, this is a flash game so make the costs plausible.
Otherwise, good beta. I look foward to seeing the finished version and potentially adding it to a playlist of interesting 'runner' games.
Since there's no backstory, I can only imagine this is the Doctor running from some Cyberman invasion. Sadly, he falls victim to badly placed windows, random boxes and chairs on rooftops, as well as random bombs that rain down with little to no reaction time.
Reminds me of the 'Worms series, except with gravity. And lack of fall damage, and all of the other teams decide to only go after you, and less weaponry. Other than the faults, pretty good. A possible good/bad thing is that you can just play the first level a number of times, focusing on health and members, and you'll get tons of cash. Easy way to blast through the rest of the game.
This game would be much, much better if the controls were more responsive ( namely selection of pixels, pixel groups, base, etc.), and if they actually did A. what you told them and B. Didn't go off to do their own thing. I gave up on this fight after I tried to beat the boss 10 times. Each time, the pixels, instead of destroying the base, chased a few stray pixels into the bombing zone, or somehow shoving past the movement grid to get to one of the other bases.
A promising game, I look forward to when it exits beta. As a warning, you might want to lay low with the packs/ gems (people are already complaining), as I guarantee people will take advantage of the micro-transactions and rule the high scores and pvp. All and all, it seems fun, although the CPU 'training' seems a tad easy, or it might just be because I didn't get to far in. Good luck in the future.
Thanks a lot for your comment.
To answer your remarks, the matchmaking is tracking your performance and is trying to match you up with someone with a similar skill, in any case.
CPU is indeed quite "stupid" and is there mostly to help you grind if you want to.
