I hate Level 8. Seems like every time I build anything, even a farm, my food went down! Had to get to a walkthrough before I smashed my screen in frustration.
The only way this could have been more epic would have been to let us eat the Fantastic 4 and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man as well. :D
PS. I didn't know Osama was a Transformer. :P
How long do I actually have to wait for a cop car to show up? I went to another tab for several minutes(reading the comments for this game, actually), and it didn't show up. :( I even tried typing 911/999 to see if that would work. :P Cool game though.
If I might be so bold, make poo give a multiplier(even if it's like +0.1* for each pile you hit) for that particular launch. That way, at least there's some benefit to hitting them with him. :)
Honey, you need a new paramour. Ideally, one whose idea of romance doesn't involve a minefield full of zombies. *hums Weird Al's "You Don't Love Me Anymore"*
Very basic tip, but one which probably bears repeating. Buying Armour heals you. Don't just buy armour willy-nilly. Save your money for weapons/potions/life extension. The only time you want to buy armour is if you ran out of potions, and the next enemy will probably kill you in 4 hits(always budget a minimum of 4 attacks from the enemy, and assume that he will hit 5-10% harder than the last enemy).
Well, it's a kind of jiggle physics, I guess. But I love how somehow I managed to make pieces defy gravity in level 2, such that they actually CLIMBED up the slope to lemming themselves. :D
Iron Fortress: This guy pissed me off a lot, since his area attack will utterly destroy most ranged attackers(and those of you following my posts here know I LOVE them) in one hit(barring Shield and heal/regen). Run your hero past him(only when he gets to the leftmost screen of the stage), so that he throws his trash to the right instead. Same deal as Inferno, you want the shots to pummel him from behind. Also, bombard his magic-weak rear with Meteors or whatever offensive spell you have, while he's advancing. Alternatively, if you have a lot of the mini-mobs(Gobs, Hobs, Bombers), keep them death-marching. They'll force him to keep pausing to shoot, giving your artillery that little bit more time to chip away. If you can get him to the last 1/5th of his health by the time he hits the leftmost screen, you should be golden for the Hero Distraction tactic above.
Note: The Hero is NOT useless. In a couple of stages(Notably, Inferno{Extra 8} and Iron Fortress{Trial 2}), the boss will track you down almost to the exclusion of all others.
Inferno will always blaze forwards, past all your defenders(golems are near useless here!), so when he comes close enough, charge your hero through(backed up by Shield and Heal/Regen), and he'll chase you, allowing your ranged attackers to pile up from your spawn point, attacking him. Keep your hero healthy, and Inferno WILL fall.
Wish they'd put an Impossible badge: Complete all levels as all 3 characters. I already finished with the Demon Lady, left the Human guy(working on it) and the Undead guy(next). :)
@JudeDude: Keep swarming him with little crap like Hobbits/Bomber Goblins/Goblins, while the other slots are filled with 1 Black Dragon(using the Omega Seal, natch!), and a whole mess of shooters(I used the 3 mages, Witch, Wizard, Succubus, because the normal Golems are weak to Magic, so assume it still holds. If it's strong against all, then the Archers/Centaurs become the superior choice). Keep backing your shooters bit by bit as the Colossus advances. Support them with offensive towers, the healing towers would probably be useless(except for Dragon healing, YMMV). Good luck!
As mentioned elsewhere, the collision boxes are HORRIBLE. I can barely make it to level 3, and then it just gets ridiculous, because the goddamn giants just eat my life if I so much as stand downwind of them, never mind making contact.
jodybrai: I simply buff the hero enough to survive his charge, keep moving my other units to attack him, then run past him with the hero when he gets close to my side of the map. After that, just stay out of his reach with your hero, while your other characters beat the snot out of him. Also, keep the regen spell on your hero once Inferno is close enough, with a heal spell thrown in if needed.
XP is related to how many units you've killed on the map. Best way to XP farm is get a bunch of maxed out Succubi/Witches/Wizards, park them a short distance ahead, then let the map run(fill your other slots with whichever units need XP), until you think you have a couple thousand kills, then kill the main target.
Computer is a Cheating Bastard trope at its finest. When you take a risk, you get punished with zilches. Then the computer gets 3 full-clears in a row... gg
